The explanations are always so vague! We're repeatedly told that 1) using LLMs are very easy and helpful but 2) students need early exposure and years of practice. It can't be both.

Many journos & pundits feel obliged to praise--even as they critique the purpose(s) of the Venezuela war--the competence of the military operation. How does that not make it *worse*? It seems quite bad that we a highly competent, gigantic, overfunded military ready to serve these chaos agents.

LLM's provide a simulacrum of what it looks like to "know" something. ChatGPT can not "know," only humans can "know." And "knowing" is a mysterious, precious, unfolding thing...and it used to be the reason why many people went to college, because they wanted to experience "knowing" new things.
