Having to rely on test scores to argue against traumatizing, children is like having to argue for economic reasons to feed people. It’s pathetic, but has come to seem necessary. It is arguing on the terms of a GOP that doesn’t even exist anymore.

You cannot run the basic infrastructures of a functioning society- healthcare to education-on systems that cut out human empathy & negotiation. So we have to reassert over and over again that the problems aren’t glitches or errors—even big ones. The problems are fundamental, systematic, endemic.

The basic story we've been told, over and over, is that Dems must choose: Either they act out their Trump Derangement Syndrome or they offer substance. Some Dems told NYT that Ds were squandering an opportunity to offer an "alternative."
