I know people believe that the Democrats are in the minority and can't do anything. I would encourage you to read about how, in fact, minority parties can be disruptive. If they want to be. You don't even have to read. You can just see how the Republicans acted during the Obama years.

The iron law of Democratic Party politics is that no matter how much harm a party leader inflicts on the working class, the party’s DC elite will always celebrate them and give them a platform.

Elliott Abrams specifically wants this, as does his network. It didn’t begin in Trump term two. Began with Iran-Contra and continued through multiple admins, including Bush and also Biden, who installed Abrams as an advisor in 2023. Same horrible people with same horrible plans for a half century.
Who specifically wants this? And why? It feels like more than just oil. I am not saying the reason is good or even rooted in reality, I just want know what it is. Is it just that some people have wanted this for a long time like they do with Iran?

If you understand that the modern patriarchy really objects to women owning themselves every other policy makes sense.
The rise of deepfakes and AI CSAM prove public and private sectors don’t actually care about abuse, but still punish sex workers, queer people, and women under that guise. Credit cards companies and law enforcement punish consensual sex and sexuality, but ignore and therefore encourage abuse

There are mechanisms to stop illegal withholding of appropriated funds, which won't be taken.

It’s been very striking to see mainstream news coverage of Venezuela. The not-so-subtle framing is: this wasn’t a bad idea. The sourcing is: a random assortment of people in the U.S. who don’t have to deal with the ramifications of Trump’s strike on Venezuela.

If this happened to a right-wing activist - every single Republican elected officials (along with the right wing media machine ie Bari would have her on 60 mins by this Sunday) would make her a hero.

Given that Trump's critics call it a kidnapping, and Trump says it's an apt term, I see no reason for the media not to use it. Literally both sides agree it's the proper description of what happened.
Q: Rodriguez called it a 'kidnapping' of Maduro

TRUMP: That's alright. That's not a bad term.

Less than a month ago, Rep. Bell voted FOR Trump's $900+ BILLION military spending bill.
He decided to give an extremely immoral presidency a blank check to continue racking up violations of international law.

Even now, he can't unequivocally condemn the U.S. attacking Venezuela.
