Virtue signaling is a term because a certain group of people (who now control the Republican Party) believe nobody is virtuous and thus any expression of virtue is mere disingenuous signaling.

Not sure why I'm thinking about this today but anybody who says “love it or leave it” is wildly wrong about love. Ignoring problems isn’t love, you’re thinking of enabling. If you love something, you try to fix it. If a pipe bursts in your house you don't choose between sewage smell and moving out.
