A beauty I thought I’d never see - State supreme courts and lower federal courts righteously criticizing the flabby fascist jurisprudence of Roberts. To the point of calling his court “white noise!” A perfect term!
“State constitutionalism makes it easy to consider Roberts Court jurisprudence white noise,” Hawaii Justice Todd Eddins wrote in a recent ruling that assailed the U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative majority.
Hawaii Supreme Court Expands Rights of Defendants, and Once Again Rebukes SCOTUS
The justices ruled that Hawaii’s constitution requires police to record interrogations. And they vowed to protect due process for Hawaii residents—unlike, they said, the Roberts Court.

Statements like “international law is gay” are why we need gender studies
right. and like it's not like they're hiding it now. all of the major pundits (knowles + walsh) basically think the takeaway from Iraq War was not that PNAC was right to want to build democracy, but a world that is explicitly built around turning America into an empire

"This isn’t the same as calling this a “war for oil.” It’s more an invitation to oligarchs to join in his conception, such as it is, of the future world order"

^^ a very important distinction
Trump openly told oil execs in 2024 that he'd govern in their naked financial interests if they raised $1 billion for his campaign. He's now taking this further, telling them they'll reap great riches if they buy into his vision of imperial hemispheric dominance. 5/

According to a court filing last night, the DOJ has released only 12,285 documents.

More than 2 MILLION documents remain unreleased.

Trump just said "all" of Venezuela's oil must be made accessible to US oil companies. Trump wants to emulate Putin's model: Authoritarian, expansionist rulers carving up their regions and distributing the spoils of conquest to friendly oligarchs. 1/

To some critics, it’s about plunder. To others, it’s about hemispheric hegemony. Actually, it’s about both.

Grok didn't learn this on its own. It was allowed to learn it. Other AIs do not do this. If Grok is made in Musk's image, we have to ask what kind of man Musk is? The answer: a man who at the very least sees nothing wrong with child porn.

What I’ve always wondered about Steve Bannon is; WHY? Why does Bannon want any of this? Is it because he’s butthurt he didn’t make it bigger in Hollywood when he was trying to be a script doctor or producer or whatever? What the hell does he even want in the end? Is he just like Heath Ledgers Joker?

Will "non-interventionist" MAGA go along? Yup.

A new WaPo poll finds only 40% overall approve of the Maduro capture and only 37% say this was appropriate without Congress.

But 80% of Trump voters support the capture and 78% are fine with not going to Congress. 6/

Let’s be clear. Greenland is already defended by NATO. Denmark is a NATO nation. The only reason a Trump-led USA “needs” Greenland is if Trump plans to use the USA to attack NATO. Period.

Washington is considering the possibility of concluding a Treaty of Free Association. This format of cooperation involves improving the living standards of the inhabitants of Greenland.
