With millions at risk of losing SNAP in the coming days, a reminder: hunger doesn't happen in isolation. When food assistance disappears, families use rent money to eat. Then come evictions and homelessness.

Housing, food, healthcare—it's all connected. Cut one thread and the whole thing unravels.

Love has never been a popular movement. I'll never have buildings named after me but I'll be damned if the memory I leave isn't that of someone who chose to do something, anything, to alleviate suffering as often as I was able. It's really just that simple.

I’m sorry, why are we using “critics accuse” language here? These are factually, unambiguously, extrajudicial killings. It’s not an opinion. It’s not a disputed or disputable claim.

We're gonna need a complete teardown of the media, same as with the ballroom. And I say this as someone who has been part of that machine for many years. It's moldy all the way through. We have some wonderful independent pubs doing real work but everyone else needs to be tossed in the fucking bin

Latest: I wrote about the DHS Office of Public Affairs shameless lies about ICE arrests and all the times it's lied to me and other reporters lately.

DHS did not respond to my request for comment about all the lies it's told. reason.com/2025/10/22/h...
Homeland Security won't stop lying about who immigration enforcers are arresting
In case after case, Homeland Security's Public Affairs Office releases incorrect information about arrests carried out by federal immigration officers.

Hey so about that whole elections thing and the reality that republicans are already blocking newly elected democrats from being sworn in a full year before the midterms.
Column: Democratic Rep. Adelita S. Grijalva won her special election in Arizona more than two weeks ago, but House Republicans refuse to swear her in.

She believes it has to do with her stance on the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and her identity.

I started reading this earlier at the doctor's office, but then got home, & other priorities took precedence. Given how demoralized I feel, I am returning to it and hoping that posting quotes that resonate as I go may help me with finishing it. Channeling my past self, who read 450+ books in 2017! 🥹
