Everything is $100 now. Meal w/drinks: 100 dollars, small bag of groceries: buddy, that'll be 100 dollars. Any tool under the sun? You're not gonna believe this but it's at leas 1 hundred dollars.

It’s making me into the Joker but “young people no longer enjoy Harry Potter because of a disdain for liberalism” might be the most New York Times editorial that has ever been published in the New York Times

ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives.

We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.

—I invented a new Spider-Man villain. He's named "Venom".
—Ok, cool. So he's got like, a toxic bite? That works with the spider theme.
—No. That's not his thing.
—Is he at least like, poisonous, then? Touching him hurts?
—No. He is a full body condom that Spider-Man used and threw away.
—Ok. Ok. Hm.

For those unfamiliar with Louise Perry, she is a reactionary hard right anti-feminist desperately trying to convince herself that all children are as hateful and neo-conservative as she is.
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

Younger generations “have fallen out of love with Harry Potter because they have fallen out of love with the worldview the series represents,” writes Louise Perry. “Which is to say that young people have fallen out of love with liberalism.”

Which does not mean backing off, but pushing harder.

All these people need to go to prison, at the least. We learned from Jan 6 that we need to jail everyone right up to the top, or they just come back after being pardoned by the worst president in American history.
Border Patrol is pulling out of Minneapolis. Bovino is ending his punitive tour of blue cities. Calls for Noem's resignation are mounting, even in conservative media. Senate Democrats are dug in now on refusing to fund DHS and ICE. "Abolish ICE" is now a mainstream position.

They are losing.

Exactly right.

Bovino's leaving? Great, get Noem to resign.

Noem resigns? Great, defund and dismantle ICE.

Go after Stephen Miller too. Bring charges against ICE thugs at the state and local level. Lawsuits. New state laws restricting them.

Every possible angle.
They are wounded and flailing. Press the advantage.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

“He’s killing us in the streets and we still have to pay our taxes in April” is an incredibly compelling point.
Before speaking with two armed men at the Pretti vigil last night, a man approached & asked if I was going to tell the truth. I said yes. He told me how frustrated he was at the media & the harm it’s causing to his community.

I asked if he wanted to share words for the media on camera, & he did:

Your anger gets more powerful the more specific it is.

Saying the entire democratic party needs to be burned down is well within the risk tolerance of most members. They just need to pretend they aren't a "typical democrat" to win.

Saying xyz member is sucking in a specific way is much trickier.

What's the outcome that terrifies Labour most in the Gorton by-election?

Reform winning?

Nope. It's the Greens they're most worried about.

They'd prefer Reform to win, rather than the Greens.
