I can't get over this picture. It's like they are watching the caller at a men's rights night in a dilapidated bingo hall but none of them have won fuck all and the buffet was shite.
the photographer was definitely like, "ok everybody, look tough!" but we know they're all just reading tweets with their arms crossed in a country club dining room divided up by bedsheets tacked to the beams

I was giggling at Cage's performance throughout and have been entertaining myself all day imitating his weird sing-song cry-giggling to no one but the ghosts I live with. Thank god for everyone else that I live alone.
It's been a day since I finally watched Longlegs. Could've done without the exposition dump at the end. Leave it abstract and rely on the audience to fill in the gaps. An enjoyable affair, heavy in mood and atmosphere and delightfully creepy, with a fine vein of jet black humour running throughout.

Hooper & Romero & Carpenter were all great for a multitude of reasons, but as I grow older, I think what I find most fascinating about the trio, as they reflect off of one another, is they were all highly skeptical of the American ideal they were raised into & they questioned it in different ways

Starmer has said that what has been allowed to happen at X is "outrageous" and that those responsible should face the "full force of the law," calling their tactics "pathetic" no wait sorry, I got confused, that was him describing Just Stop Oil protesters who put some cornflour on Stonehenge.
Ofcom, which enforces the UK's Online Safety Act, says it is aware of "serious concerns" about Grok undressing people including children on X

“We have made urgent contact with X and xAI to understand what steps they have taken to comply with their legal duties to protect users in the UK," it says

Jordan delivered MULTIPLE career-best performances in a genre-redefining film that will be regarded as an all-time classic for generations to come.

Chalamet did a Bob Dylan impression that was almost as good as Weird Al Yankovic’s in a film no one will ever bother to rewatch.
Michael played three roles in Sinners. Man, what the FAWK?! 😒

Should European universities also consider using European tech, and not Microsoft, Google etc?

Absolutely blows my mind that Americans have this attitude to work / life. That they put up with hardly any annual leave, being in massive debt for health and education, no paid maternity leave. Greatest land in the World though... for employers.
A Dutch worker went viral after explaining to their American boss that they have a life outside work.

As I'm sure you're aware, the fifth of January is the day of the Schnabelperchten, a creature of Austrian folklore who will check your house for cleanliness. If they decide you haven't done a good enough job, they'll slit open your belly and fill it with straw. Happy New Year..!

This is very good advice though my offline sdventures in meatspace this weekend have seen me break a toe, rage quit multiple attempts to relax and accidently ruin one of my favourite items of clothing becuase I misread the label. All becuase of the headspace I am in.
in all seriousness people are aggro’ing over increasingly stupid and bad things because they feel useless in the current moment which, to be serious, means you should log off and do more things instead of just screaming at someone
it’s just the sunday scaries

Weekend update. I just ruined my favourite zip up top in the washing machine. It was dark, I misread the label and washed it on the wrong settings. If I could shrink myself down to doll size I might still be able to wear it. £80 down the shitter.
Just to throw fuel onto fire, I managed to break a toe today. Naturally this comes at a busy time for me when walking around in a timely fashion would be rather useful. Essential, even.

This is an excellent thread that's well worth your time. It's not really the oil they are after, it's the petrodollar. Also, how yesterdays actions were a desperate move by a nation that's potentially far weaker than they would care to admit, and how this may have hastened the end of US dominance.
A very long and important THREAD -

The real reason the US is invading Venezuela goes back to a deal Henry Kissinger made with Saudi Arabia in 1974.

And I'm going to explain why this is actually about the SURVIVAL of the US dollar itself.

Not drugs. Not terrorism. Not "democracy." 1/
