Worth a read. Ireland’s performance is notable. @marydixonwoods.bsky.social’s quote at the bottom of the screenshot rings true from experiences in Ireland building and implementing a national maternal & newborn electronic health record. Collaboration & standardisation are key.

US Maternal death rates have always been shocking. More so when you compare the overall picture (accepting different methodologies & ascertainment quality) with figures on this side of the Atlantic. So much preventable death. So many concentric rings of grief rippling out from each maternal death.

Analysis of U.S. deaths of pregnant and postpartum women from 2018–2023 indicates that obstetrical complications and disease are no longer the leading causes of maternal death, replaced by homicide, suicide, and overdose. Read the full analysis: nej.md/4a96wPp

It lists all recorded visits to Epstein's estates, each person's possible knowledge of Epstein's crimes and laws that they may have violated.

Devastating. Feel for the families that will be affected. AND one of the objectors: AirBnB landlord, allegedly.

Scandalous details of objections to the Rotunda plans from last year: those who objected were more concerned about “heritage birthright” than giving one of the busiest maternity hospitals in Europe the necessary space to safely care for the tiniest patients. Grim.
