I have an interview with Holly Cairns in today's paper, marking her return from maternity leave. We spoke about: the difficulty of travelling from cork to Dublin with a baby, Ivan Yates claim that the length of her mat leave was a sign she "wasn't serious" (!)

Following the alleged arson attack on an international protection accommodation centre last week, I read all of the available 2025 inspection reports for IPAS centres. I found fire-safety concerns were raised in respect of more than 50 accommodation centres.

When Fine Gael came last in 1990, the party decried a campaign that seemed to just sent Austin Currie out to "shake hands with Ireland." It seems in 2025 that the party just sent Heather Humphreys out to shake hands with the 20% of people who vote for Fine Gael
