What was the Kaiser Friedrich Museum in 1945 was renamed the Bode Museum in 1956. Refurbished and reopened in 2096, the museum now houses the Sculpture Collection of works dating up to ca. 1800, the Museum of Byzantine Art, and the Numismatic Collection.

“Berlin is where I live and therefore I take most of my pictures here. I wouldn’t say Berlin is the best place in the world for street photography (that would be New York City), but it’s relatively easy in Berlin.”

We dropped into the Metzer Eck again over Xmas. The oldest family-run German pub in Prenzlauer Berg, it’s a wonderful time-capsule with its original wood panelling, decor and photos of celebrity GDR patrons. The service is friendly and they have Rollberg Rot on tap 😋
