Handing back student work that’s been written by ChatGPT with a 0 followed by the comment “This essay will never stand in authentic wonder before the Beauty of God’s creation.”
Pope Leo XIV told students not to use artificial intelligence for homework, saying that AI ‘won’t stand in authentic wonder before the beauty of God’s creation.’

Ever get that sense that you're looking at something and it will reappear when some historian from the future is deciding what photo should go in a callout box for 2025 in that textbook they're writing?
Oh wow @reuters.com got the photo here:

Every educated adult in the U.S. knows this but the senate shouldn't exist. There is no justification for North Dakota and South Dakota to have four senators between them when the combined population of both states is smaller than that of Chicago.

Literally every day.
you ever want to just get a bunch of friends together, get a little crazy, and abolish the senate

One of our country's greatest war criminals just died, the president is arguing with himself about whether or not to let 40 million people starve, and there is an actual courtroom drama about a five dollar footlong.

How are any of us supposed to maintain emotional regulation.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Where we stand, in long arc of history:

-Story on left, adding race as a factor when that favors white people.

-Story on right, banning race as a factor when that favors non-whites.

I often complain about NYT headlines and story-play. But these are strong. Including "If Court Guts 1965 Law."

Please remember that the disgust people have over Christopher Columbus is not based on some modern, 21st century “woke” ideology, but rather on contemporaneous accounts of atrocities that make many modern genocides appear quaint in comparison.

Below, are the accounts of Bartlomé de las Casas.

Today is a good day to read some contemporary accounts of Columbus's voyages to the Americas & their consequences, such as those of Bartolomé de Las Casas & Fray Ramón Pané, who both condemned the treatment of Indigenous peoples.

Thirty-one years ago, there was a slave auction reenacted at Colonial Williamsburg.

Some thought it powerful, many thought it insulting.

This summer, I traveled to Williamsburg myself to see how the country’s largest living history museum today tells the story of Black life at America’s founding.
What Is Colonial Williamsburg For?
Telling the full story of the town’s past is an easy way to make a lot of people mad.

It's the moment with just under 30s left that gets me EVERY time. I handed my wife the video last night and I heard her snort from the other room... It was that part. This needs to be broadcast/shared everywhere.

Writing about this right now. We've had five-plus years of educators being ousted by MAGA. Can we go back and restore those folks' careers, safety, and peace of mind?
Do any of the professors or journalists or teachers also get their jobs back or nah
