One of the main reasons Trump is attacking MN is because it's one of the few states that is a true my functioning welfare state, with strong unions, and large scale immigration assimilation. Trump wants to show you this doesn't work, Minnesotans are showing you it does!
Most of the people I saw saying a general strike couldn't just be spun up out of nowhere were right. I don't think any other place could pull this off right now. The Twin Cities built a citywide support system on every front in like 6 weeks, they are doing the ridiculous backwards in heels.
The prevailing consensus over the last year was that anyone calling for a general strike was ridiculous and ignorant and it would never work here, and maybe that’s true nationally, I dunno, but I bet those people wouldn’t have seen tomorrow in MN coming either

"I’ve looked at mass civilian detention around the world... I’ve talked to the people involved—those detained and tortured, those who supported camps, and those who stood idly by...

My goal today is to warn you that the U.S. has already been seized by the same camp dynamic."

Here's the post.

Our great-great grandfather fought at Gettysburg in the 1st Minnesota. He lost his leg but he and his compatriots turned the tide of the war, fighting for human emancipation. To think history might repeat due to a racist, violent, self-righteous cult with a very sick leader is gut wrenching.

Where has this Evan Dando been on the last three Lemonheads tour? He sounds good both musically and vocally, where as the last 3 times I've seen him in concert have been absolute disasters.

The question on NYC's congestion pricing has quickly moved from "is it working?" to "why isn't my city doing this?"
“Our overall conclusion is that congestion pricing in New York, like many other cities in the world that have implemented it, helped not only improve traffic, but also reduce air pollutant concentration, improve air quality and should be good for public health.”

Brooklyn Park police chief Mark Bruley: "We're hearing people being stopped with no cause & being demanded to show paperwork to determine if they're here legally. We started hearing from our police officers the same complaints. Every one of these individuals is a person of color... it has to stop"

German Jews were citizens of Germany at the start of 1933. By the end of 1933, the Nazis had
removed citizenship from naturalized citizen Jews.

In 1935, all German Jews were fully stripped of their German citizenship.

Citizenship under dictatorships is contingent for targeted minorities.

Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped from Minneapolis. He was my neighbor and he died in an American concentration camp. He was not "illegal," he was a human being made in the image of the divine. May his memory be a blessing, and may the rest of us fight like hell until we stop this brutality.
This is the sixth death in ICE custody in 18 days. This isn’t enforcement, it’s a system that cages people, outsources care, and shrugs when they die. Abolish ICE.
