Liberals are capitalists. Conservatives are capitalists.

These parties are not on the side of the people.

SPOILER ALERT: the democratic party will continue to ignore stuff like this in favor of their intense love affair with the "promise next to nothing and win anyway" gang (ie: mikie sherrill, abigail spanberger, etc).
NEW: Dems easily flipped the sheriff's office in Pennsylvania's Bucks County, a big swing county in the Philly suburbs.

So? The incumbent GOP sheriff had contracted with ICE. His Dem challenger promised to end the contract.

Now he wants other swing-state Dems to look at his victory as a lesson:
Voters Ousted This Pennsylvania Sheriff After He Signed Up to Collaborate With ICE - Bolts
A populous, swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.

"the democratic party - still impotent and useless but now with swearing!"
The President wouldn't last five minutes as an air traffic controller, and after everything they've been through - and the way this administration has treated them from Day One - he has no business shitting on them now.

Anyway I think one reason I'm not that mad at these guys is we already knew they were the wrong people for this moment. A party trying to carry on with business as usual in the face of autocracy won't survive. They're sitting in a burning house and commissioning polls on how popular the fire is
If you think the president is a tyrant and you're running for office to oppose him the only platform you can have is "Give us enough votes to impeach and remove this menace." Otherwise what's the point of electing you?

not -wholly- endearing to see all the "trust schumer"-posters deleting all their takes from yesterday, but it is entertaining at least

progressives like jayapal and AOC parroted this weak-ass line too and now they're exposed as impotent nothings (again) - they regularly bow to party leadership, get ZERO (at least afaik) in return + end up looking stupid when shit like this happens.

every single dem should be primaried in '26.
democratic voters wanted their party to shut down the government for myriad reasons — troops in american cities, masked thugs ripping families apart — but dem leaders insisted the wise thing to do politically was to stay hyper-fxated on this one thing, ACA tax credits. and then they just… gave up
November 10, 2025 at 3:14 PM
8 senate dems voted against raising the minimum wage a few years ago.

back in the run-up to ACA getting passed, harry reid didn't say he had 58 or 59 votes for a public option through in a reconciliation bill - reid said he had 53, 54 tops. it's never JUST one of them.
turns out it wasnt "just manchin and sinema" (it never was)

i hope the efforts are organized - i do not want to see 10 people challenging worthless incumbents and said worthless incumbents going on to win their primaries with 25% of the vote. that's the thing to watch for.
i was here in march so i’m obviously pleased to see so many others arriving at this same space
Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

Republicans AND Democrats are afraid of pissing off the Republican base, but nobody seems to mind pissing off the Democratic base.

The last three elections, I've been in online spaces that skew younger desperately trying to push back on the native and the coordinated nihilism about the two party system, and the Democrats fucking refuse to give me the tiniest ledge to stand on.
I keep seeing regular Americans taking more risks every day to fight tyranny, want, and cynicism than I see from the opposition party, and I imagine many of those regular Americans are asking themselves what the value proposition of such an opposition party is, really
November 10, 2025 at 7:18 AM
not a good idea to say fighting twice in a post after you've caved to the GOP again - it just reminds us of why we dislike you all so much.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

If Dems accept this deal, it will help the GOP cement the following ideas into the public conscience over the coming 4 weeks:

-Shutdown was Dems fault/responsibility
-They did it for nothing
-They caved to Trump

Having accepted responsibility, it will also cripple them in the follow up debate.
First, I will say this: never believe an Axios backed story with only a Thune test vote schedule.

That being said, for obvious reasons to anyone who sees my posts regularly, I don't think a deal is a good idea for Dems, but the rumored deal seems pretty poor even factoring in my priors against.
IMO there are two legitimate goals to non-cooperation (which would likely lead to shutdown):

-Demonstrate Dem opposition & non-complicity
-End filibuster

There are endless examples of this regime of the bullies for the billionaires attacking our people. When we make believe we're in a fight for healthcare subsidies alone, as critical as those are, negotiating in good faith as if MAGA were normal party - we normalize the regime.

Every disaffected Dem & swing focus group we do begins with people asking what's real. They hear, at times, this is authoritarian takeover threatening lives & livelihoods. But perceive most "leaders" not acting as if this were so.
