The complaint is difficult reading, but if you need a condensed timeline of events in Minneapolis... I think I missed this incident entirely:

Unlike other businesses in Minneapolis, Starbucks is allowing ICE agents into stores against the concerns of baristas and our community.

That's why our union is taking action. Across Minnesota, baristas are demanding that Starbucks update their guidance around ICE immediately.

There’s a big story everyone is missing—but this article hits on it.

We aren’t just seeing public health dismantled bc we’ve been taken over by conspiracy theorists and lunatics.

What we’re really seeing is the giant, predatory, underegulated wellness industry come to Washington.

Just want to stress that this was a woman who was simply trying to get to a doctor's appointment.
We are so far past the Rubicon that it isn't worth having a discussion anymore as to whether Trump is acting as an authoritarian. The only question is whether we have the strength and courage to get back to the other side.

So a blue-wave resister account picks a fight with a farm sanctuary out of nowhere and then targets Cats of Yore, including contact outside of the site, and not only is she back but she didn't even have to delete that gross post to get her account back?

It really cannot be overstated at this point enough that literally in some of the whitest suburbs of the city, we have armed Gestapo agents going door-to-door, asking people to turn in their neighbors.
I live in Cottage Grove and they were in my neighborhood last week. It’s ridiculous.

ICE just confronted us in our car saying it’s our first & final warning. There’s nothing illegal about driving your car safely on Stinson, Lowry, or any street in our community.

They are purposefully surging at school get out times terrorizing our families. Ice needs to stay away from our kids.

I am absolutely infuriated that the best damned account in this place has been run off due to the ridiculously piss-poor moderation here.
I deleted my previous posts about my harasser to protect the sanctuary, but I will not be using this bluesky account anymore if someone can threaten me here, via email, and on the phone without consequences. Bye for now.

so much to cover right now, but a thread i just want to throw out there from my reporting is that the car rental market in minneapolis is reportedly totally screwed up right now because ICE has cleared the inventory. rental companies should have to answer for supplying vehicles used in terror.

god i was just going to post earlier about how the attack on trans healthcare is a trojan horse for attacking all healthcare which is some shit i've been on for a while now but i feel like it's just proven true more and more each day
"Trans healthcare is healthcare" disappeared one day in 2020 and hasn't been seen since.
I can't help but notice that as trans acceptance backslides that casual allyship amonst cis people, even those that claim allyship loudly, is down noticeably.

A few years ago, cis strangers would defend my pronouns, now it's back to mostly close friends, mostly queer people.

The Mayo Clinic says when you are sick with covid to mask up around pets, don't sleep with them, try to stay away from them, wash your hands before handling them while masked

I know we've all gotten lax, but pets can catch it. Covid started zoonotic, so it easily spreads to animals and between them
You can give covid to your pets, as a reminder.
Cats can get covid as they can catch coronaviruses, AND dogs can have neurological problems after being exposed to covid.
This isn't fearmongering. You should mask up around your pets if you're sick.
