The difference between the recent WA flooding and the current floods in Marin is that the people affected in WA were at least mostly rural/outdoorsy people with some basic life skills, whereas most people in Marin are useless rich techies that can't buy their own groceries... it's gotta be CHAOS lol

I use a KVM to switch between my personal desktop and work laptop and a while back one of the monitors stopped working and wasn't fixed with a new cord so I figured it was the monitor itself, but I finally got a new monitor and it STILL isn't working, so now I am in cord hell trying to solve this

It's uncomfortable to unpack your privilege, but it's more uncomfortable to be oppressed. Most white people can't manage the relatively minor discomfort of coming to terms with whiteness in order to ease the burden on the oppressed. It's pretty pathetic.

Let's be honest, if that professors wasn't trans the university would have had her back on this. This isn't something that the average professor has to worry about, it's very explicitly part of a systemic attempt to eradicate trans people by making it impossible to be trans and employed.
If you’re wondering why your friends in academia are a little on edge right now, it’s because an eighteen-year-old who hasn’t done the reading, doesn’t look at the assignment, and has does no critical thinking skills more complex than “because I think it’s in the Bible” can literally end your career
