Is there a plan to revitalize the cycling path that runs along Greenbank Road between Fallowfield and Hunt Club? It has been in bad shape for years, but there was extensive damage to parts of it over the winter.

I’d be lucky to get sharrows! Instead we get asphalt patches on our sidewalk!
TFW you find out your city is putting in sharrows instead of a protected bike lane.

Can I take "all of the above" Alex?
Which of Doug Ford's crises are the most concerning to you?

Growing crime
Lack of new housing
Traffic
Massive deficits
Cost of living

Here is hoping the new administration doesn't tear it all down.
The true results of NYC’s recently launched congestion pricing program will take a while, but the early results are nevertheless impressive. Along with significant decrease in traffic, they’re also seeing increased transit ridership. Gridlock can be solved without new asphalt!

Once again, Dave Barry nails it.
“The number of people who identify as “influencers” continued to grow exponentially, which means that, unless we find a cure, within 10 years everybody on the planet will be trying to make a living by influencing everybody else.” -Dave Barry

Probably the most apt explanation I’ve ever heard.

Reminds me of the stoic quote: “It is not the man who has too little, but the man who craves more, that is poor.”
the reason all billionaires are insane is because once you pass the point of being able to buy anything on earth you start coveting things that can’t be bought

Yet another argument in favor of walkable cities designed for pedestrians and cycles rather than for cars
“Loneliness and isolation can lead to: 29% increased risk of heart disease; 32% increased risk of stroke; 50% increased risk of developing dementia among older adults; and 60% increased risk of premature death.”

Surgeon General recommends designing cities to create more connections. #WalkableCities

“…if your city invests…”

By this point, I don’t understand why more cities don’t invest. Perhaps it is still seen only as a cost.
Winter doesn’t have to be a barrier to biking if your city invests in a network of protected, connected and cleared bikeways. 🚲 ❄️

Ford’s government can find $2.2B for a luxury spa, but can’t fix Ontario’s crumbling schools.

- 40% of schools need repairs.
- That’ll hit 75% in 10 years.
- The backlog will balloon to $22B.

Spas, not schools. That’s The Cost of Doug.

And we don't simply build what is needed for growth, no, we build the BEST roads, BEST parks, BEST rec centres. We make the new residents of urban infill developments pay the DCs that go towards new luxury suburban infrastructure.

DCs are fueling the sprawl. They need a major overhaul.

With 60% of trips by bike, teens are the age group that cycle the most in the Netherlands—over 2,000 km. per capita per year.

Rather than spend these years depending on parents and waiting for a driver’s license, they experience the autonomy promised by the car without its stress, danger, and cost.
