"He agreed with Patrick Jackson BL, defending, that a lot of drivers regularly took that illegal right-hand turn despite there being numerous signs advising that it was not permitted."

Is "everybody does it" genuinely a mitigating factor? I fear it is.

They want their military back home to patrol their own cities? 😕🤷‍♂️

Background on my experience.

I don't use it for coding (sometimes for tech assistance on SAP and Azure)

Mostly I use it for planning work in the very human world of creativity/arts. It helps but sorry to say it clearly parrots. Maybe it's just at a very naive stage? I'm sure it will mature.

I use Claude every day with a pro subscription. I use the free offerings of all the other major LLMs most days too

They're very useful, can respond in a very humanlike fashion but I'm seriously unconvinced there's anything more to them than their technical components

Extraordinary claims... etc.

😄 I didn't even ask the AI to park it with one wheel on the pavement. It must be what it's learned from the training data 🤯

Department of Transport u-turns on mandatory helmets and high-vis for cyclists
Mandatory helmets and high-vis for cyclists are now not being looked at by the Government, the Department of Transport has confirmed. The introduction of mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for bicycle users is "outside the scope of the current measures" being looked at by the Government, a Department of Transport spokesperson has said this afternoon. The Department issued what it terms a 'clarification' about 24 hours after it said that bicycles were included in a move to make helmets and high-vis mandatory for e-, and hours after the Tánaiste, Simon Harris, contradicted the Department's statement from yesterday.

And just as important, will they acknowledge it to themselves and change tack?

Added it to my favourites last night. I'll make it my next watch.

At least the South King Street brickwork reflects the Gaiety theatre. The rest is a bit pants

The problem is that the proposed replacement is awful. The utterly cookie cutter bland type of awful. By all means replace the centre, but for God's sake replace it with something that's an improvement!

"China will eat Canada alive, completely devour it", says the US leader who literally, and repeatedly (Governor Carney!), expressed a desire to devour Canada.

Teaching the Western world that it can survive without US protection will be Trump's greatest failure. He's giving away America's leadership position to become just another big country that needs to be managed.

If safety is a priority then it should be mandatory for all cars to be painted in hi-viz pink.

The last thing he mentions is kindred countries of kindred principles.

But it's the US that has abandoned those principles, not the UK/Europe 🤔

Harsh, but not entirely unfair. We've put a lot of our eggs in the one basket(case).

The upcoming rodgering will be unlike any other. And unlubed 😮

If we trash the Dollar might this just create a buying opportunity for the world's billionaires? They're surely smart enough not to keep all their assets in Dollars?

That's fine so long as this time they understand the difference between de-escalation and appeasement. But there has to be a red line somewhere.

Donald Trump is clearly mad. This is batshit level mad. We've heard of mad Kings in history from hundreds of years ago. This one has access to weapons that could wipe out civilization.

We laugh at him taking 'peace prizes' but it's actually not funny 🥴
