Ancient philosophy is 50% profound eternal wisdom and 50% that same exact guy declaring with supreme confidence two paragraphs later that pee is stored in the armpit.
Aristotle in his books on nature insisted men have more teeth than women.

Friend walked into a pub in Cork with a huge army greatcoat on, old lad at bar perked up and exclaimed: "COMRADE! WHAT NEWS FROM STALINGRAD!?"
Was in Doyle's once and a lad walked in wearing a black leather jacket, black t-shirt and *tight* black jeans. When he got to his table, one of his mates looked up at him and went "Look, it's Sandy from Grease."
I am calling upon the people of Ireland to immediately begin construction of a thread on this site about how you or someone you know was roasted for a fashion choice. We need it.

All roasts must have come from Irish people *only*. Please respect this important rule, it makes a difference.

Had a dream in which @minxmarple.bsky.social demanded to meet my parents, who, since being long dead, had to be "conjured" back to life, after which I sent a car to the cemetery to pick them up. When they finally met her, they assumed because of her accent that she was a member of the royal family.👑

Daylight Saving Time is increasingly hard to notice when my digital devices are like, "What? Nothing happened. We know what time it is."

And my stove is left blinking and screaming, "IT HAPPENED! TIME SHIFTED UNNATURALLY! THEY'RE ALL LYING! ONLY I KNOW! ONLY I REMEMBER!"

Unfinished Poem
Sandymount Strand, Dublin All this will be washed away by rising sea and frequent storms. Before retreating to self-reliance, I want to find the words to preserve a shrinking world; language is a slender thread that can briefly connect secret lives before fading into silence. Maybe old words will sink into the sand, become fertile and then rise to give me what I need: new words, even some I do not understand, but not today, I know. I did not have to write this.

Nothing real will ever be enough. The ancient dream of immortality has fluttered against unbreakable glass for a thousand lifetimes without getting in; countless hopes lie buried in separate graves, and yet it still persists. Humanity, always caught in the grip of the present when it really desires forever, wants age to be practice for the future, a deep black mouth with a throat of light, the unformed songs of endless years to come masking the atonal slash of nothingness.
