According to Jeff Passan, #Bluejays have agreed to terms with Japanese slugger Kazuma Okamoto.

He’s won 3 HR titles in NPB and has a career .860 OPS over there.

Best hitter to come out of Japan since Hideki Matsui, and in his prime. (Ohtani from another planet, doesn’t count)

Still room for Bo.

President Zelenskyy on Maduro:

What can I say here? If this can be done to dictators, like that, then the United States of America know what they should do next.

Loved this. Such a clever device used to portray a worthy message. "Worthy" very much a soft sell. Essential maybe better.
Today I wrote about our white supremacist political movement's perverse insistence that "we don't have to apologize for being white anymore."

Conservatives have been apologizing, apparently. Did you know? I had no idea. So I asked, and here's what I found.

Apologies For Being White
How supremacists convert responsibility into blame to avoid paying natural costs and to make everyone else pay unnatural ones.

It’s actually an art to construct a statement like this which expertly avoids saying anything.

I'm so tired of the american military complex and the devastating real impacts of the lie of american exceptionalism.

I grieve that people in power who don't know peace in their own hearts spew their bitter bile upon the world. This is not the way to peace. War and violence are failures.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Conspiracy To Posess Machineguns And Destructive Devices?

That's an actual chargeable crime in the US?

In between rounds of either golfing or chocolate cake parties.
So we’re just announcing foreign strikes and kidnappings of foreign leaders on social media now? No Congress. No explanation.

This is madness.

THREAD. Every year, I tell the story of Ezell Gilbert. It's the story of one of the most remarkable cases in U.S. history, and you’ve probably never heard of it. The story of what the U.S. government did to him is vital for understanding the current moment we are in.

Ive been accused of my politics not being valid (despite me singlehandedly using the internet to raise almost a $1M for poor women) because I take vacations or go to nice restaurants.

It is such a farce to believe that a vow of poverty and suffering is necessary to advocate for equitable societies

Pluralism is good.
And I think liberals should stop taking the bait and ceding ground on immigration.

Immigration is good. Multiculturalism is good. Free trade is good. Stop being embarrassed to say so.
