On Sunday, I made soup for the first time this season and it is so good, it has set an incredibly high soup bar for the many soups to follow.

Accidentally won a costume contest tonight before a screening of Wake Up Dead Man, after seeing Bram Stoker's Dracula this afternoon (on film!) – good Halloween!

My initials are SAS so I am SAS in short. But also this is only a representative part of me so my online presence is me in short.
Explain your username:

It's a line from Parks & Rec one of my fave shows. In that show, Leslie has an ongoing cold war with librarians. She calls them punk-ass book jockeys as she overturned a book cart and flees. I'm a librarian who is punk in spirit if not attire, so, yeah.
explain your username:

short version: it’s my author pen name

long version: I was going by the initials “CM” on a message board for writers, because it stood for “Chicken Mafia.” People knew me as CM and then suddenly I needed a real name for human interaction purposes.

Parallel play but it's my cat and me napping in the same room on separate surfaces (unfortunately she claimed the bed first so I'm on the loveseat).

Look, PSLF absolutely needs reworking. As it currently stands, it's inaccessible for many LIS workers. That said, the proposed changes are going to make it even harder for us. The administration could potentially disqualify public and academic libraries, without any challenge process.
The Dept of Education is now accepting comments on a proposed rule that would overhaul Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and make it too expensive for students to go into work that threatens the Trump administration

Folks have til *Sept. 17* to oppose the changes

A proposed Department of Education rule would make borrowers ineligible for loan forgiveness if the administration doesn’t approve of their work.

The thought of more than once a day service between Boston and Albany that might not take FIVE HOURS is too much, I am verklempt.
My administration is full-steam ahead on West-East Rail — and we're closer than ever to making it a reality.

We just won $3.5 million to connect Boston and Albany through Springfield. Better commutes, less congestion and a stronger economy are on the way.

the thing that kills me about “people in red states deserve to suffer” is we live in a red country under that definition and none of these people think that they themselves deserve suffering just because they live here

I do not fucking care! Fight for it anyway or give up. What else are we fighting for if not?

It's cruel. It's an incredible escalation of their anti-trans culture war. And there is still a chance to stop the provision in the Senate, so if you have a trans person in your life you care about, I implore you - make your voice heard with your Senators. Both of them. Republican OR Democrat.

We want to do a thread about what you can do here in Massachusetts to stand up for immigrant communities.
