Donald Trump is a terrible president but you have to admit he’s an even worse human being.

children, gather round.

when i was in college, one of my hustles was photographing slides* for the other art students. i had the right kind of camera**, knew a person who would lend me tungsten lamps***, and knew the right local developer****.

“Realistic” in the sense of “we think we might be able to do this without too much actual change” rather than “what is necessary for planetary well-being“ it’s not “realistic.”

“Realistic” means paying attention to physical reality.
Reading this type of incrementalist capitulation by David Victor in the The New York Times is really disappointing (though not particularly surprising). www-nytimes-com.eu1.proxy.openathens.net/2025/12/27/o...

🧵 Our mutual aid hub has been a HUGE draw for our immense volunteer base, many of whom have never wanted to be involved politics before now.

This model isn’t just about the immediate impacts: It’s about showing our values, building a community, and reaching voters — without selling our soul!
Turning campaigns into mutual aid hubs isn’t good for campaigns or mutual aid! Your campaign manager should be entirely too busy to schlep around 5600 tampons!

Google AI seems awfully certain about this and a little rude, but what if the last decade and a half shows that the ubiquity of cameras took bits of our souls

Kind of wild how the take that some of Trump's supporters were "deplorable" was some huge scandal, but regularly screaming about "radical left scum" is just a thing he'll say with no media backlash.

@charlotteclymer.bsky.social is spot on:

“It's 2025, and we're sharing bootlegs of a “60 Minutes” segment broadcast in other countries because our own nation is being run by fascists and their billionaire-owned state media helpers.”

as a dad with an art degree, that last one hits home for sure
this my fav new album of the year-- all 7 songs and 7 minutes of it

super catchy punk, with clever lyrics about friends who shoplift at sephora, the sadness of being a CPR dummy, and dads with art degrees who work making pink flamingo lawn decorations

go support them!
