nearly 30 years ago, politicians in both parties were vigorously shaking hands over passing legislation that gave financial incentives to people *adopting children out of* families in poverty-driven crises. that was the bipartisan approach to social welfare. 🥚
It’s unreal that we take children from their families and pay strangers to care for them, when the majority of removals are due to poverty in the first place
I'd add that in a humane system, the financial assistance we give to foster parents should also be available to bio-family.
Often $$$ is a huge hurdle for extended relatives, adult siblings, and yes, even parents to overcome in providing a safe and stable home.

Letting your dog off-leash in an area not designated for it shrinks the world for other people and animals who can't risk unexpectedly meeting a loose dog. My dog is not dog-friendly. WE mind our own business, obey leash laws, and just want to have a nice walk.

the reason 101 dalmations looks like that is because disney incorporated xerography (ie early photocopying technology) into the animation process. rough pencils (by mostly male animators) were copied onto the cels so that disney could fire the (mostly female) inkers. remember that art can lie to you
