I know I am in the minority, so I bite my tongue in mixed company, and it's entirely possible that this was a personal problem, but the whole movie I felt like "I don't really 'care' about these characters" and then when they all died at the end (spoilers) I went "Oh, that's why"
rogue one is bad folks. i have believed this since i saw it in theaters and no subsequent rewatch has changed my mind. basically a chop job until the final sequence, which is good (for star wars)
