This is a great piece of journalism - dogged, determined and doing a great service to the local community

I’d read a shopping receipt if Donald McRae wrote it, but writing about King Kenny?

Read the first six paragraphs. Childhood heroes will almost invariably let you down - but not King Kenny. A toweringly great footballer, a better man.

Just tried to go to a cafe, the doors were open so we went in. They said, Sorry, we don’t open until 10, can you wait outside please? I checked the time, it was 9.59.

That level of unwelcoming pettiness is not a place I want to spend any time.

A ★★★★★ review of I Know Where I'm Going! (1945)
I remember watching this the first time and being a bit baffled by it. It seemed weirdly theatrical, the Scotland unconvincing and clichéd, and I didn’t pick up on any chemistry between Wendy Hillier ...

I've been to a few exhibitions at the Weston recently and without fail they have been a) exceptional b) exceptionally understated. I'm sure this one will be the same.
If you haven't been to @bodleian.ox.ac.uk #Tradecraft exhibition yet it is well worth a visit. Splendid to behold!

Great piece by Matt Chorley this. Also a really clever way of managing 'BBC bosses' desire to compete in the comment space' in a way that is good, informs readers and is Charter-compliant:

For many Tory MPs looking at Kemi Badenoch's leadership, they are already wondering how much more time she needs to turn around the party's fortunes.
