Stopped the night in Aachen recently en route to a funeral in Cologne. Had always wanted to see Cathedral but knew it wouldn't be open early enough. As we walked past we noticed that the door was ajar. We went in: an elderly gent beckoned us into the chapel and gave us a quick tour. #visitaachen

I know the old shtick "if it's free you're the product" but this example from Tripadvisor is outstanding ... apparently I can look forward to mouldy fridges, body hair on the mattresses and blood stains on the sheets. At some stage I hope brand damage will bring back some balance....
