you already know what's up

(steam sale rec thread is what's up)

as always, i focus primarily on older, obscure, and just plain weird games, as big name titles don't need the help.

so, onwards!

Designer: all right Mr. Del Toro here’s those Frankenstein’s monster designs, real sexy just like you asked for.
Del Toro: (nodding) this is exactly as sexy as I asked for.

The Ivalice Chronicles adds smart refinements to an all time classic, honing it to a sheen. But it’s impossible to play this game and not see it reflected in the state of modern America. I wrote about that, and the idea of resistance for Rolling Stone www.rollingstone.com/culture/rs-g...

3. If you see content that disturbs you, immediately (or as fast as possible) go and play 20-30 minutes of Tetris (or any other fast-paced game with your eyes sweeping over the visual field that has caused visual artifacts to linger when you close your eyes for you in the past).

When I speak about my love of scavengers, I often draw the well-meaning question "do you mean people or do you mean animals?" and after considering that further I can only in good conscience answer "both."

This is definitely a hot take and the sort of thing they love to speciously misinterpret in conversations about "toxic masculinity" but we'd be a lot better off if we could deal frankly with the fact that most men are taught that being actively stupid is an integral part of gender performance
99% of the time I see young men explaining why they're Trumpers and hate Democrats, it's not just erroneous, it's nowhere close to reality. They live in an alternate universe created by right-wing social media.
I see this stuff all the time: Young guys insisting Democrats - who just last year had a football coach running for vice president - are telling men not to watch sports.

Just completely made up.
