When Biden was in the White House, and Democrats controlled both houses of Congress, why did they keep all this Epstein stuff covered up?

Believed it’d be improper, running counter to the goal of restoring public perception of impartiality? That’s the relatively least damning answer I can think of.

So many people, including me, misinterpreted 2024 as an affirmation of fascism, when the reality is that it was a collective demand to press the Cheap Groceries Button.

But again: There is no Cheap Groceries Button and a politics in which elections hinge on its existence seems highly unstable.
This has gotten lost: Abigail Spanberger won big after vowing to RESCIND Glenn Youngkin's executive order directing local cooperation with ICE and voting AGAINST the anti-immigrant Laken Riley Act. Yet she gained bigly with working class.

45/47 loves to pardon the worst people in the world to try and save his own arse. I wouldn't put it past him to pardon a woman who enabled child rape and molestation.
Q: Is the president considering a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell?

LEAVITT: It's not something he's talking about or even thinking about at this moment in time

(Not a no!)

Wow - this tribute hit me like a ton of bricks and is worth the watch. Bravo, @jimmykimmel.com, for being so open, vulnerable, and loving in your tribute to Cleto. "Cherish your friends - we're not here forever."

Thank you, Jimmy. 💜

RIP, Cleto.

WATCH: If you REALLY want to understand a BIG reason why cycling [aka riding a bike] is so dangerous in North America, and one of the biggest villains in the origin story of our unsafe status quo, invest some time watching this one, by NOT JUST BIKES (aka @theurbanistagenda.com here). Then share it.

Abhorrent. And having MPD aiding this is beyond the pale.

@mayorbowser.dc.gov: shame on you for approving this. Where is your backbone? Where is your moral compass? Where is the compassion and empathy?

I don't see it. And that's shameful for a leader.

if you voted in Seattle you gotta make sure your ballot counted now
There are 1,700 ballots that need signature confirmation. That is enough to change the election.

Go. Check. Your. Ballot.

On #RememberanceDay in Canada we say #LestWeForget because forgetting means we fail to honour those who gave their lives defending freedom from fascists and nazis. And all those who still defend us today.

It’s also because if we forget, we’re doomed to repeat.

That’s more relevant now than ever.

All I can say is that @schumer.senate.gov will go down as one of the biggest accomplices in the MAGAt takeover of the federal government. Through inaction, inability to read to actual room where things happen, being beholden to donors over people, and stubborn adherence to outdated ways, he fails.

I've noticed the opposing team's fans only cheer when the opponents score on us. To win those fans over, I recommend we score on ourselves repeatedly; that will surely make them so happy they'll start supporting us. And I'm sure all our fans will keep cheering for us—who else is there to cheer for?

NEW: Dems easily flipped the sheriff's office in Pennsylvania's Bucks County, a big swing county in the Philly suburbs.

So? The incumbent GOP sheriff had contracted with ICE. His Dem challenger promised to end the contract.

Now he wants other swing-state Dems to look at his victory as a lesson:
Voters Ousted This Pennsylvania Sheriff After He Signed Up to Collaborate With ICE - Bolts
A populous, swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.

If you care about tree conservation, you should be a passionate supporter of eliminating parking mandates

(also...that is a cute, affordable triplex. Portland's various housing reforms continue to bring the goods)
Parking was one of the more controversial aspects to Portland's Residential Infill Project.

This newly built triplex at SE 16th & Morrison is a good example of how eliminating parking requirements allowed a mature tree to be saved. www.redfin.com/OR/Portland/...

But you haven't. You haven't fought a legitimate fight in years.

Today is just another watermark of a sinking ship you purport to captain. Resign your leadership NOW, @schumer.senate.gov.

And expect to be primaried by a *real* Democrat in 2028 if you dare run again.

Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

The PA Democratic Party needs to treat John Fetterman as an opponent no less than a Republican, and actively work against him when 2028 rolls around.
Expel the yes votes from the party and cut off all their access to fundraising, then remove Schumer from leadership. Anything less is mealy-mouthed coward bullshit.
As this vote moves to the House, I stand with Democratic leadership as they refuse to rubber stamp the full-scale Republican assault on Americans’ health care and I am proud of the majority of Senate Democrats who opposed this vote.
November 10, 2025 at 4:04 AM
Apparently the eight traitors to the republic (and that is *exactly* what they are) have given up the fight - and in the case of Fetterman were never really in it to begin with.

To the rest of the Dems of both chambers: stand firm, don't negotiate with those who won't do so in good faith.

Chris Murphy: "There will be pretty substantial damage to a Dem brand that has been rehabilitated if on the heels of an election in which the people told us to keep fighting, we immediately stop... if we surrender without having gotten anything, I worry it'll be hard to get them back up off the mat"
