Can anyone explain to me why so many bars in Portland hire a DJ to play loud ambient music every Friday night? There’s no dance floor so like it’s not for dancing? It’s just loud while I drink a $13 martini and try to talk to the people I’m with 🥲 I want to support their art I just don’t understand

so my main hobby is sewing and I’ve recently become obsessed with costume design. I have albums of inspo for cool high concept dresses and cloaks. What do I do with these feelings? Sew them and then put them on mannequins I’d have no room for? Do community theaters need random high-effort pieces 😭

I’m an absolute freak for eink and have been desperate to get away from my clunky windows PC that always gets in the way of just booting up my games. I have not been this excited for a console in decades!!!

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

I saw Frankenstein in 35mm at the Hollywood Theater here in Portland last weekend - it was so sincere and earnest and human and GORGEOUS, I couldn’t possibly recommend it enough. I’m a huge @realgdt.bsky.social film fan but this is easily my favourite ♥️

It's about time Strange Days finally begins getting the retrospective love and respect it deserves. To me, it's the best pre-Matrix cyberpunk film other than Blade Runner and Robocop, and still better than most cyberpunk films made since.
