@murray.senate.gov @cantwell.senate.gov I hope this is just a rumor because this would be disrespectful to the people Democrats say they’re fighting for.
Let me get this right… a sufficient number Senate Democrats appear to be willing to reopen government to alleviate air travel for upper & upper-middle income people at the expense of access to healthcare for lower income people. Yes?

One of the topics of the history of science that has continued to fascinate me is the discovery of the principle of conservation of energy. As I discussed in my three-part series “Booms, Bloo…

Maybe you forgot to sign your ballot, or your signature didn't quite match the one on record. If you received a signature challenge letter and have questions, we have a web page for that.

Folks who need to resolve a signature challenge have until 4:30 pm on November 24.

The Wilson election night event is at the community event space that's part of El Centro de la Raza. It has ground floor community & retail space, a preschool (our kid went there!) and affordable housing on top. The site was originally occupied in the 1970s by Roberto Maestas and allies.

Seattle, you have two hours to turn those ballots in. Are you going to let NYC make us look bad?
New Yorkers are HITTING THOSE POLLS. It's the highest turnout in about two decades.

The cost is whatever. I am a little more concerned that the mayor is out of town for 15% of all weeks over 2.5 years along with presumably at least one staff member. I thought we were trying to reduce spending. How did those trips benefit the city? Were they good uses of staff time?

I am admittedly nervous about the Seattle mayoral election. Optimistic, yes, but nervous nonetheless.

Today I'm calling on @governorferguson.bsky.social to declare a state of emergency: the expiration of SNAP benefits for nearly one million Washingtonians will be a disaster for the health of many, and for the economic health of the state. We must join other state governments and act swiftly.

“I also believe I speak for many a Washingtonian in wondering why, in light of the disastrous impacts of both the H.R. 1 Reconciliation Budget and the government shutdown, state lawmakers are not currently in a special session to forge a path forward” #waleg
Rep. Scott is right:

900,000 people in our state losing SNAP benefits is definitely an emergency.

Hey Seattle voter folks: The Families, Education, Preschool, and Promise levy is up for renewal on this ballot. It’s done a ton to help kids and adults with childcare, mental health care, and of course the Seattle Promise program guaranteeing tuition-free community college.

So vote YES already.

I can't help but think about how SNAP benefits are about to go poof and the local Transit Riders Union is organizing food assistance for members but the county & state Democratic Party is apparently doing nothing? Seems important somehow to have civic orgs that support participation.
