this is exactly the argument for why Seattle has four city owned golf courses. I don't see why we have four public golf courses and no publc transit to snow.

Fix the I90 Trail Lights!
The I90 trail lights at Judkins Park have been inoperable for over a year. This is a highly used park both for local residents who walk and play here as well as a major part of our regional bike infra...

It's wildly expensive and bureuacratic in Seattle to comply with all rules (compared to say Portland). Many of those rules, permits (& costs) aren't about food safety even!

- it is WILDLY expensive in Seattle to follow the rules for a street vendor. it's not just health code. bsky.app/profile/r343...
- County health dept wants to focus on helping abide by health rules. These enforcements ain't that. www.thestranger.com/food-issue-2...

Big City, Big Street Food
Seattle is growing. We are becoming big. And with a big city, comes big, delicious food tents.

Story: Many years ago, every few months over a period of 5+ years, I would head up to Cold Spring Harbor Labs to work on an Evolution textbook (see cshlpress.com/default.tpl?...).

Given that my iphone can't even reliably unlock my phone with faceID which is trained in the best conditions (I've turned it off), I am just deeply skeptical that you could interpret propensity to pay loans on time which is like a 50 steps removed from facial expression.

Yeah I don't remember the numbers. I'm just noting that it IS possible for the general to have depressed turnout. My household should have been removed from any pro-Harrell campaign's mailing list but we got at least 6 negative mailers. That can REALLY disinterest someone less committed to voting.

Sadly negative campaign messages have been known to suppress turnout. If someone wasn't too excited by Katie (for whatever reason) but was also turned off by the Harrell campaign's negative messaging (and that from the PAC run by deputy mayor Burgess), they might just decide not to vote at all. :(

I am trying to resist doing that too often.

Wowwwwww. I mean, it's a MEN'S CLUB and women are only allowed as guests right? That sends a pretty big message!

Is Harrell's event again over at Blue Water or whatever it's called over on the water served by a bus that stops running at 9PM?

I'm not going because lazy and don't like being out in the dark. But to me it means a lot when candidates for elected office pick transit accessible community spaces which our almost teenager could in theory go to (she would decline sadly even if I wanted to go).

It's right next to the Beacon Hill light rail station. There are SO MANY new homes in the area now. There's a grocery store and a library branch. We have brand new protected bike lanes and improved sidewalks. It IS the kind of walkable community place that we need everywhere in town.

Building the new buildings was a HUGE endeavor and was really hard to achieve when they built it (over 10 years ago!) because combining affordable housing, commercial space & preschool was not something that anyone wanted to finance and there were regulations/zoning issues.
