Reminder: puppies are up for adoption, which you can see in the thread I'm quoting here, but in the meantime some more photos. They play a lot and they sleep a lot.

That last photo I'll explain below in this thread...

🚨 Urban Stats 30.3.7 🚨

Two new features!

@spudwaffle.bsky.social has landed a change allowing side by side settings and maps (only present on desktop to make it easier to make maps in the mapper)

I added a feature so you can see the mean statistics for your friends!

alright i maybe have been too cat centric and want to clarify: there are not enough creachers on bsky, period. i currently estimate that below 1% of posts are primarily about a little guy or small fella. its sick and its not sustainable.

Now we have virtual comment! Ken Abreu with the Sierra Club says the project is overall very good. He likes that it's tall and dense, but recommends more open space. Ultimately he says we have a housing crisis, and that we should try to get more units onsite.

I'm kindof emotional about it.

A regrettable sign of the times, but it shouldn’t be misreported: they aren’t restricting most CS papers. They are restricting ONLY review/survey papers and position papers, which weren’t common in CS anyway prior to the AI onslaught. No new restrictions on CS papers consisting of original research.

If you're thinking "Wait, why does a house that's worth $3.9M only pay $1,447 per year in property taxes?"

Contrast that with a house down the street that's worth $3.4M and pays $36,591 per year!

That's California Prop 13 (1978) at work!
