I can't stop thinking about the purported drug smugglers being murdered by the US military. The punishment for drug offenses isn't the death penalty. This is just bloodlust and men in suits playing with lives they don't care about. It's truly grotesque and gravely compromises this country.

All of Hollywood is run by a series of billionaire children standing on each other's shoulders in trench coats, and that's not good for culture, my guys.
BREAKING: Netflix wins the Warner Bros. Discovery bidding war with an $83 billion offer, setting up a merger between the streaming giant and the legacy Hollywood studio.
Netflix to buy Warner Bros. and HBO Max
If approved by Trump administration regulators, the deal would lead to a new entertainment and technology behemoth.

All media mergers end up hurting writers, actors, directors, and everyone else who works in the industry. Executives, assistants, caterers, teamsters, everyone. Fewer companies means fewer jobs, period.

NEW: Elon Musk's Grok chatbot will, with minimal prompting, provide residential addresses of everyday Americans.

Prompts as simple as "[name] address" immediately returned accurate home addresses of private citizens — alongside other personal info we didn't ask for.

YOU DID A GOOD JOB WHY WOULD YOU RUIN IT. YOUR JOB ISN'T TO OUTSMART YOUR AUDIENCE. UNGUESSABLE PLOT TWISTS ARE BAD TWISTS.

Yesterday the President fell asleep, yet again, during a televised fake Cabinet meeting staged so that each of his courtiers could heap praise on him, praise for which he couldn't stay conscious. He woke up just long enough to spew racism. Why is this not being treated as an emergency? >

Trump was born on third base and managed to steal second.
Ilhan Omar rose from a single parent immigrant family where her dad drove a taxi to her current position. Trump is the kid of a racist wealthy slum landlord who headed multiple failed businesses. One of these people is the example of failed ambition and it's not her.
What a racist piece of shit.
Trump on Somalis: "We're gonna go the wrong way if we keep taking in garbage into our country. Ilhan Omar is garbage. She's garbage. Her friends are garbage."

This is a prime example of how Christmas can be a powerful tool in reflecting on who we are, who we have been, and who we want to be as a nation.

Christmas is an active opportunity for both acknowledging our faults and, crucially, addressing them. It's the Dickensian challenge: keep it all the year

Holiday Hot Take Number 2:

The Brits are wrong.

But only because, as a Christmas film scholar, my honest hot take is that you don't get to tell someone else what constitutes a Christmas film for them. If it's part of your Christmas tradition, it's a Christmas film.
British public’s verdict is in: Die Hard is not a Christmas movie
Survey also reveals Britons’ favourite festive film, views on tear-jerkers and family cinema trips

How selfless. They each only pick 1.

Disabled people were one of the first groups targeted by the Nazis.

They coined the term “useless eaters”.

They tested the gas chambers on us.

They knew most people wouldn’t fight to save our lives.

That’s why the President using the R slur is so dangerous.

It's all nonsense. He is a public servant. Demand decency, and slap back hard and fast when you don't get it.
I can’t believe people in the room don’t push back. It doesn’t matter if he’s the president, part of holding him accountable is standing up to his bullying— especially if he’s doing it right in front of your face

No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.

Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.

But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?

No.
