It's Jasper's 1 year gotchaversary. Onyx's is in a few days. When I adopted them, the shelter hadn't had the chance to get them neutered yet, so I had to wait for them to get fixed before they could actually come home. So, they're brothers that I adopted together, but they have different gotcha days

I realized a while ago that the reason why llms were being forced on us, the reason why ai bros thought they were the shit was because they are good at coding. It took coding to build them and then they are good at coding, so their makers assume they are good at everything.
this whole thing is so fucking frustrating because LLMs can be genuinely useful for coding
predictive text actually works quite well for writing code! you can get them to write functional apps! at the very least you can get them to write boring unit tests!

I don't condone violence. I also think it is unsurprising and probably inevitable. Elected officials should have delivered -- if falling short of abolishing ICE -- at least any real reform some time in the past eight years. You cannot expect order if there is no law.

Are we doing echo chamber discourse again? I posted this when bluesky was about 1/6 the size it is now. Bluesky let's curate your experience more than other places. The people who bring dog shit to the marketplace of ideas don't seem to like that very much.
Am I in an echo chamber? I don't know, but I know I wasn't one of the people googling "did Biden drop out?" on election day. Maybe there are other people who need to broaden their information spectra more than me.

Some folks want the Sentinelese people to be the executioners of people that annoy us. The Sentinelese deserve better. Killing people takes a toll on most people, and they shouldn't have to deal with the risk of outside disease. We should be responsible for our own garbage. I'm glad he was arrested
