Ate a box of Annie Mac and Cheese. Went to the gym. Gave myself permission to take it easy at work tomorrow.
What did you do to take care of yourself today?

Talking with some students today about how a lot of us just could not fall asleep last night, and one of them said, "Sleep server was full."

Y'all I have to be insufferable about fundraising for @scarleteen.com because the work we are doing is too important! We're establishing a $40k fund to help with health care expenses for staff and volunteers, and a dollar-for-dollar match kicks in at $10k!

a thing I think sometimes even well-meaning people who point out (not incorrectly!) that when right-wingers say "porn" they also mean queer art and queer people's lives can miss, is that it's not just a problem of drawing the line in the wrong place. there _is no way_ to draw that line cleanly.
There has been a noticeable reticence in left and liberal circles to voice full-throated support for pornography, even as it's become increasingly clear what the open end goals of the censorship movement are
In a lot of ways other leftists chose this path folks. They shrugged and didn’t care when Patreon banned a ton of hypnosis and TF creators, or when YouTube started their ASMR crackdown. Now it’s coming for queer porn creators, more and more. Who will stand up?

So 5yo got the stomach flu that's been going through his school, and I'm so sorry to the McDonald's employees who had to clean up after us. But luckily, I haven't taken the beach stuff out of the car, so we had a bucket handy for the miserable ride home.

I would be utterly thrilled to rid the Democratic Party of everyone who was pals with Jeffrey fucking Epstein

why exactly would I want a child abuser to make government policy
"This could take down Democrats, too."

I know. And I frankly wouldn't give even an itty bitty damn if it implicated every Democratic man in Congress, every Democratic hopeful for 2028 and every Democrat who has even thought about running for office.

Down with the sex predators, wherever they are.

the biggest lesson from the emails today is that powerful people are so unafraid of consequences for crimes as bad as “raping children” that they will just talk about it openly in emails

the only path to a better society is one where that is no longer true

first it's pensions, then it's healthcare, then vacation, finally it's the wages, pretty soon you're just going to one box to work all day for no money and going to another to get the rest of snap to eat, which sounds a lot like how they described the soviet union to me in the 80s but what do i know
Is this good? It doesn't seem good.

"Walgreens will no longer give many of its retail workers paid vacation time for Thanksgiving, Christmas and other major holidays, as the company looks to cut costs under new owners."

This is what I try to always tell people: food banks can do way more with your money than you can, due to bulk buying deals. And they can do way, way more with your money than with the canned goods you didn’t want to eat
spoke with the executive director of my local food bank today and got this really incredible line: "if you donate 1 can of green beans, we can give away 1 can of green beans. but if you donate a dollar, we can give away 6 cans of green beans"

It’s not empathy if your primary goal is to put the least amount of effort into making someone behave in a way that makes you comfortable.

And permanently makes them honor you as a savior

So you can get wealthy enough to have what you don’t think they deserve

I do think this is a point of radicalization because a lot of angry, angry normal people were ready to dig in and suffer a lot in order to make fascists suffer a little, and their resolution was sold out and made into a mockery

The reason why I'm so angry has a lot to do with the lives that will be lost — people are absolutely going to die as a direct result of Senate Democrats folding on health care. It also has a lot to do with the suffering that was endured — people were struggling to get by without food assistance. 🧵

Absolutely correct
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

I'll get back to "party unity" as soon as the Senate Minority Leader tells us if he voted for the Democratic party nominee for mayor of his city.

I'm tired of party unity only ever running one way.
