I follow several dietitians (they get more education & certifications than nutritionists) who teach the nutritional value of our cultural foods.
A bit of Aunty Advice : if you’re looking to start your fitness journey in 2026, don’t let ANY nutritionist tell you to ditch your cultural traditions. They sustained the ancestors and they will continue to nourish you. Yes, you can make healthy versions but don’t get caught up in “clean eating”.

I’ve seen this personally with some of my stepmom’s family. Yes, there are indeed Latinos who affirmatively voted for and support this. Even ones with noticeable Spanish accents who *no one* would mistake for Anglo-American.

Meanwhile my debit card didn't work at multiple ATMs in DR where it was supposed to. I had to wire myself cash instead. Super annoying.

The last few times I called the banks for this, they told me that it wasn't necessary but how else would they know it's not fraud?! & then BoA has the nerve to freeze my card at the Walgreens up the street. Make it make sense.

The last few times I called the banks for this, they told me that it wasn't necessary but how else would they know it's not fraud?! & then BoA has the nerve to freeze my card at the Walgreens up the street. Make it make sense.
I definitely remember to notify the bank when I'm traveling now. Having your cards lock up overseas is not fun.
