sharing this as if it just happened (this story is from eight years ago) really hides the important reminder that DHS was broken way before the current administration.

Just statistically there has to be at least one person in this government who isn't a lunatic right? Not even one slipped in on accident?

It's not a new observation at this point but that wild Noem/Lewandowski story in WSJ really brings home the extent to which all the Trump 2 cabinet-level goblins see their jobs as flying private, doing short-form video, and screaming at underlings. They all hate each other and none of them can read.

Still around 100 community reports of ICE activity around the Twin Cities today, the most of any state by far.

In case you’re wondering why so many of us aren’t quite taking Homan’s presser today at face value.

There have been multiple abductions this morning in NE Minneapolis, Columbia Heights, and Fridley — I'll believe that there's an ICE drawdown when I see it. Until then, we're assuming that — like always — the administration is lying to us.

We keep us safe.
Someone was abducted at 10 AM by ICE on Central Ave. Their coworker says they’ve lived here for over 20 years, are documented, and have 3 kids who were born here.

Don’t be fooled by headlines when they’ve been lying to us the whole time. We still need you out patrolling until every agent is gone.

They literally dragged a minor employee out of a Target as he was wailing that he was a US citizen, roughed him up in their car, and then dropped him off bloodied and bruised in the freezing cold a couple of miles away, so miss us with this.

Ending this operation is not enough.

We need justice and accountability. That starts with independent investigations into the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, economic restitution for businesses impacted, abolishing ICE, and the impeachment of Kristi Noem.

"ICE may have lost the battle for public opinion, and its operation in the Twin Cities may be hampered by local pushback, but it has succeeded in one respect: It has instilled terror in Minnesota’s immigrant communities, forcing them into the shadows."

This victory belongs to the people of Minnesota who have inspired all of us by transforming crisis into action and tragedy into solidarity. People power works.

The timing of this announcement — shortly before Congress votes on a DHS funding bill — is no accident.
Trump administration says it is ending its immigration surge in Minnesota
More than 4,000 undocumented immigrants have been apprehended since the operation began in November, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

in fact you do not have to show your ID when you board a train in the united states, you only need to show your ticket (which can be purchased without an ID)
