You can’t seriously expect to wear out the immune system, blood vessels and organs and think that this will not bite you on the behind at some point.

I was asked: "who are at higher risk of developing Long Covid?"
I just answered "those who don't wear a respirator".

Given asymptomatic transmission, you seem awfully comfortable infecting, and likely eventually killing, people. In particular for a former masker.

If you’re a person who cares about not disabling and harming other human beings, including children, you must know that nearly half of COVID cases are asymptomatic, that Covid spreads before symptoms begin, and that you have a responsibility not to harm others. That is simply humanity.

If I said that people shouldn't drive drunk because driving drunk puts other people at risk, it would be offensively silly to mock that idea by saying in bad faith, "Wouldn't people be safer if everyone just stayed home?"

But you do you. Keep advocating for avoidable illness, disability, death.

And yet the situation of repeat *SARS* infections in perpetuity doesn't seem unreasonable to you?

60% of people who catch SARS-CoV-2 get it from someone who is asymptomatic or presymptomatic and 40% of infections are asymptomatic. At this point you are like the people year 5 into the aids epidemic saying condoms are just for gays and sailors, or the surgeons against handwashing

any "rational assessment of the threat environment" is that a single infection could be devastating for anyone, and you could spread it to someone else with the same potential for harm.

..mandates should be established. I am also honestly aghast at the fact hat you have an extremist government taking public health apart (with ongoing high circulation of COVID, ongoing measles outbreaks and the risk of H5N1) and you chose to criticize people concerned about airborne infections.

SARS-CoV-2 is airborne. It spreads and can linger in the air, a bit like cigarette smoke. High quality masks/respirators are critical to prevent infection from this dangerous SARS virus and other airborne pathogens

Nobody has Long COVID, but everybody has brain fog, cognitive decline and memory loss. I talk about the overwhelming scientific evidence that COVID damages the brain, and the overwhelming social unwillingness to acknowledge it in my latest:

The problem is not that most people lack information regarding the extreme danger of Covid-19, because information is available.

The problem is that most people do not care, and do not want to know.

The problem is that most people are willing to accept mass illness and excess mortality.

Covid is not over.

It’s still killing & disabling

Our “rush back to normal” has devastated millions of lives

It’s a novel virus. We don’t know the full long term effects, but what we do know isn’t encouraging

The good news? You can make a difference

Wear a mask. Clean the air. Get vaccinated.

At a minimum, please consider wearing a good mask like an N95 on airplanes and in healthcare settings. Now basically no one is, which is deeply dystopian and troubling. COVID is still out there and causing subclinical damage.

It’s just basic facts. Basic science. Basic compassion for others.

ok the thing about "covid consciousness sounds conspiratorial" is that like we went into lockdown about this. like. in real life. people were like "this is dangerous" ALL over the world. and then just decided to stop, based on like, vibes. like you did not have to connect fake dots for this

"The best way to prevent Long COVID is to prevent getting COVID-19 or getting it multiple times. That means staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and wearing a well-fitting mask, especially when indoors among crowds.
