It's not amnesia. It's reality avoidance and, in many cases, willful ignorance

Hey @ipaccanada.bsky.social if you're done unmasking the future, can we maybe let someone competent have a go this time?

If you're still practicing to botch H5N1, don't worry, you've got that. Canada has full confidence you'll screw it up by the numbers.

It's just...a break would be nice.
Hey @ipaccanada.bsky.social how about we try remasking the future?

This would be a good year to finally start learning from your mistakes, and I think we can all agree that your unmasking idea turned out to be spectacularly stupid.

So, what matters more to you?

Your egos? Or your job?

"I reached out to Isaac Bogoch" is immediately disqualifying.
After almost three decades, Canada has lost its measles elimination status.

That means in 2025, this extremely contagious disease spread consistently in our country for the first time since 1998.

This was preventable, which makes it embarrassing -- in more ways than you might realize:

You think you're better?! You're using the past tense, but the Covid pandemic is current and now! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
The pandemic was a mass-disabling event and one of the reasons it has largely vanished from day to day political discourse is that those in power don't want to acknowledge the long term care needs it produced.
The number of people aged between 16 and 34 who are out of work due to long-term sickness increased by 76% between 2019 and 2024

COVID-19 remains unrecognised as an occupational illness in Ireland. The argument is that it's too difficult to prove an infection source, as COVID-19 is so pervasive in our communities. This is an admission of failure and not a justifiable excuse. #cleantheair #cleanairforall

This applies to every single one of you ableist fuckshits sharing that study that apparently conflates the brain damage Covid infected babies have with autism.

For shame.

Autism is *not* brain damage. Their brain damage is *not* autism and you are promoting eugenics for autistic people. #Covid
Research is going to be problematic if you don't include the community, our perspectives, and our priorities! The best autism research is being done by autistic researchers or by people who are working with the autistic community. 4/

lol it’s once again Canadian Patient Safety Week and yet hospitals and healthcare facilities and leadership across Canada all pretend that COVID is not predominantly airborne, which causes vast harm to patients because effective protections are not in place.

If you're going to volunteer at a food bank because of the current times, please consider wearing a mask when helping distributing food. Even if they're not wearing a mask themselves, poor people have enough to deal with right now, getting an infectious disease just adds to the burden.

Most people read posts like this and privately think, "kids being disabled by a virus is fine if things still look normal to me. I'm ok with that, I'm willing to make that trade on their behalf."
Yes.

Yes kids should be wearing masks in schools and being given cleaner air.

Those masks should be comfy and cheap.

Why?

Because kids are getting sick with a disease that we know very little about, and what we do know, is looking problematic.

It was made up in 2021.

This the first article I could ever find that mentions it:

Many people had little exposure to common viruses during social distancing, meaning bugs could spread more quickly once countries reopen.

Do what you can to avoid spreading sickness to people...EXCEPT MASKING IN PUBLIC SPACES, OF COURSE!
yeah, i think a commitment to public health obligates you to get vaccinated and, when you are sick, do what you can to avoid spreading that to other people. the demand that one mask at all times in public spaces is, i think, unreasonable.

The mindless millions believe that Covid-19 is a "mild" disease.

The mindless millions believe that wearing a respirator mask is not necessary.

The mindless millions are completely wrong on all counts.
