Hypothesis: The big push for RTO is caused, in part, by management wanting to trade the productivity gains of remote work for reducing the risk of people demanding compensation that reflects increased productivity.

We're going to have to beat MAGA at the ballot box, fend off the seemingly inevitable fascist coup attempt and then hammer their movement both in popular opinion and in the courts until right-wing folks remember that they got more done working within liberalism than without it.

Trump, and his supporters and apologists, are shitty people with shitty values from a shitty culture.

Not enough bad things can happen to them.
So far, I am only seeing TPM, Mediaite, and Daily Beast focusing on this.

We live in a world where the president calling an ethnic group "very low IQ" and "bad for our country" while insisting they "ought to get the hell out of here" barely makes headlines. talkingpointsmemo.com/news/trump-m...

All it would take is for a bunch of these CEOs to confront Trump in front of the world and tell him he's unfit to run a hot-dog stand, and his presidency would be over. Seriously.

But none of them has the balls to do it.

MLK was only 39 when he was killed. Growing up, I thought that was old. But I’m 43 now and I’m stunned by the burden he shouldered at such a young age. I’m also a lot more aware of how hard it is, at any age, to carry the hopes and dreams of an oppressed people on your shoulders, as so many do.

Everyone Who Was Supposed to Protect You From This Failed Miserably
Donald Trump will now be the president again. A colossal failure by every Republican, Democratic, legal, corporate, and media institution got us here.

a certain type of person really loves to interpret Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech as “MLK said to be nicer to white people,” and my recommendation is that those people, in particular, read Letter from a Birmingham Jail at least 2-3 times, to really let it sink in.

We're going to need a denazification program for the federal government when this is over. It's that simple, and that stark.
A prerequisite to competing in, and winning fair elections is that you need political freedom and basic human rights. How could a party not, when they get power, dismantle a secret police force dedicated to imprisoning and killing them?

Never forget that billionaires spend billions to convince you that voting doesn't matter. Don't help them. Voting isn't the ONLY thing we can do, but it is the most powerful check on the executive. "Don't bother voting because there'll be no free elections" is oligarch propaganda.

Every time Trump breaks the clear letter of the law, the NYT and WaPo write a story about how he’s “pushing boundaries” or “testing the limits of his authority”

He's not Chuck Yeager, guys. He's a crook.

Blanche is a Made Man in mafia terminology. He does what he's told, and what he thinks the Boss wants. In exchange he has his position and income. He expect the benefits of his vassalage to continue, ad hopes he'll strike it rich some time.
Can someone explain to me what Todd Blanche hopes to get out of this in the end? Like, I get that JD and Marco think they might get to be president. Miller gets to live out his psychopathic fantasy. But Blanche…? This is his peak. Is it to be AG when Trump fires Bondi? Like what is his point
BREAM: Is the FBI investigating the ICE agent who shot Renee Good?

BLANCHE: What happened has been reviewed by millions of Americans bc it was recorded. We investigate when it's appropriate. That is not the case here. We are not going to bow to pressure. So no, we are not investigating.

You don't need to liken what happened to Renee good to what happened to Jews in Germany.

You have to liken it to what your ancestors did to Black people here about 150 years ago because guess who the Nazis learned from? YOUR FOREBEARS.

For fucks sake.
