This is just delicious.

From the SF Chronicle (I use my apple news subscription, so no link except to apple news): Cryptobro wants a Fuck You Peons statue on Alcatraz, proposed the project over a year ago, set up a funding platform.

Cryptobro has raised $5. Yes, 5. 500 pennies. 20 quarters.

Authors, Beware! There's a firm called "ClaimsHero" doing aggressive social media outreach claiming to
"help" you file to get $ in the Anthropic class action. In fact, it's a bait-and-switch, they are luring authors to sign up with them, then OPTING THEM OUT of the class action so they'll get zilch.

Tomorrow is the official release date for the hardback edition of HAZE! It's the library and collectors edition, so it has extras: a short story and some illustrations.

In Edmund Fitzgerald news: There’s an analysis of the weather leading up to the sinking. I think it firms up the Three Sisters rogue waves lifting the stern theory.

And that storm was BAD. One of the comments calls it a cold hurricane. It fits. So does bomb cyclone.

All this fuss about "The Wreck of the Edmund Pevensie." I don't get it. He gets high on Turkish delight and then splits the Dawn Treader in two during a November gale. Bfd.

Now, if he'd managed to snuff that annoying talking mouse, that'd be something to be proud of.

Dogs will be like “I know a place” and then take you to a portable toilet.
Some of the stray dogs living near Chernobyl have recently turned blue. This confused scientists for weeks, until they realized they had simply been rolling around in chemicals from a nearby set of portable toilets. 14/10 for all

As you begin budgeting for Black Friday, consider shopping locally as much as possible. Many small retailers (especially hobby shops, game stores, and comics shops) run *barely* in the black until the holidays, at which point they make all the profits that will keep them solvent next year.

As long as I don't have to go anywhere, that is.

I had an uncle who was a printer and he worked in the days of hot metal. He had some of the most blood-curdling anecdotes about industrial accidents I have ever heard.

Something to think about as people are cheering on the return of manual labor.

When I think of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, I think of Captain Cooper on the Arthur M Anderson, and the courage it took to turn the Anderson around to go back out and look for the Fitzgerald. His conversation with the Coast Guard still gives shivers
