Speaking of hopepunk*. If anyone hasn’t read NK Jemisin’s novelette Emergency Skin, I cannot recommend it enough. I know, this is the same person who destroyed you emotionally with the Broken Earth trilogy, but this is wonderful and completely *not* devastating.

The problem with reading pride and predjudice variations/fanfic combined with early joss Wheaton influence is that my verbal language use has gotten very strange. I often sound like a regency novel with the occasional valley girl phrase thrown into the middle of a sentence.

PSA: if you’re going to an unveiling and you’re not JUST there to make sure the dead haven’t risen and walking the earth as some kind of zombievampiremonster, please keep in mind that it IS the second half of a funeral and it IS a lot of people and feelings. Schedule the next day lightly. >>
