While I was tempted to call this Italian Toast, rather than the almost tactless Panettone French Toast, I felt the latter title had the benefit of conveying to you exactly what this is. You can certai...

Rather late in the day to be sure, but #RecipeOfTheDay is this Turkey and Glass Noodle Salad! www.nigella.com/recipes/turk...
Turkey and Glass Noodle Salad
I love recipes using up leftovers, and this is a particular favourite because it suddenly goes off on another tangent, so to speak. The zingy South-East Asian flavours certainly give new life to the o...

My ultimate Christmas Cocktail, the Poinsettia, is of course #RecipeOfTheDay, and I raise a glass to you! I won’t be on here for the rest of today, but before I go off to peel my potatoes let me wish you all a very Merry Christmas! 🎄♥️🎄 www.nigella.com/recipes/poin...
Poinsettia
This is probably the most serviceable, all-round cocktail-party drink: eminently refreshing; satisfyingly quaffable. It started off as a Christmas cocktail, a juicily seasonal Buck’s Fizz (a drink I ...

You could argue that the roast potatoes are the most important element to get right at Christmas. Perfect Roast Potatoes create perfect happiness. Which is why they are, indeed, #RecipeOfTheDay!

Perfect Roast Potatoes
Needs must and all that, so I have always been an open anti-perfectionist, but in truth (and I’m sorry to repeat what I’ve said before) it is impossible to cook roast potatoes without needing them to ...

By this time tonight I was meant to have made my bread sauce, cranberry sauce and begun the gingerbread stuffing, and yet I find myself, tasks still undone, on my sofa, with drink and cake to hand, happily gazing at my Christmas-Grotto-garden. Rather thrilled with my new light-up deer, I must say.

I can’t pretend this is a festive suggestion as I’m not sure that a book about the trial of a woman who poisoned her in-laws is a tactful Christmas present, but The Mushroom Tapes: Conversations on a Triple Murder Trial by Helen Garner, Chloe Hooper and Sarah Krasnostein is just too brilliant 1/4

Excellent news!
Tomorrow evening it’ll be my annual duty to vaguely shepherd the activity on the #duvetknowitschristmas hashtag and urge people to give small sums to charity. 7.30pm? Something like that?

OK, so I know it sounds odd to be suggesting a Summer Pudding in the middle of winter, but 1) it works brilliantly with frozen berries; 2) a bit of sharpness and zing can be just the ticket over Christmas; and 3) it’s just perfect for those in the Southern Hemisphere! www.nigella.com/recipes/summ...
Summer Pudding
It's true, I admit, that a dessert of compacted berries encased in bread is not an appealing proposition for those who haven't grown up on this seasonal treat, but all it takes is a mouthful to convin...

I’ve just got my gravy (my time-honoured Allspice Gravy!) on, so thought I’d post the recipe for those of you who also want to get ahead! www.nigella.com/recipes/alls...
Allspice Gravy
Generally speaking, the best gravies are made by deglazing a joint’s cooking juices in the roasting tin, but, with a brined bird, the liquid it gives off is just too salty; you can’t use more than 2–3...

Since I posted the Spiced Peaches to go with my Christmas ham earlier, I thought I may as well do the decent thing and alert you to this Slow-Cooked Black Treacle/Molasses ham recipe which I’m planning to do this year. It’s just so very good, and so very easy. www.nigella.com/recipes/slow...

I have just gone through a weird mental journey from “never heard of these things” through “hang on just making stuffing as a snack, is that even allowed?” to “I must have this, immediately, where can I get some panettone” in the space of about forty seconds
