The United States expended 25% of its entire missile defense capacity to prevent Israel from facing consequences for its war of aggression against Iran! The US Navy pushed maintenance schedules back years to kill Yemenis on behalf of Israel! They poured F/A-18s into the Red Sea for Israel!
I don't want to directly quote tweet but there are apparently still people who think the US is somehow only "indirectly" involved in the genocide in Gaza. We've spent probably $50+ billion to make sure it happens! American soldiers have killed and died making sure it continues!

NEW: Democratic Rep. Jared Golden's office signals he is a yes on the Senate CR despite widespread opposition from his party.
His "position on using a government shutdown as a legislative strategy has been clear and has not changed," his spokesperson says.

Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.
If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

Huge pet peeve of mine is when people use the word 'cowardice' in a context where 'apathy', 'greed', or outright 'desire' is more likely the motivator

I don't think it's cowardice. I think that they are OK with what the GOP is doing. The sooner folks reconcile with this, the better.

Truly amazing that any time the democrats have to bite the bullet and do something that ruins countless lives, there's always *just* enough votes to get it done, but if there is a vote on something that would actually improve people's lives, they are always one vote short. Crazy how that happens.

if you genuinely think Schumer and Democratic leadership opposed this & Republicans coincidentally got exactly the number of votes they needed to avoid a filibuster and none of those votes are from Democratic Senators who are up for reelection in the midterms next year, I have a bridge to sell you.

If your position is that Democrats have no choice but to agree, than you are impliedly admitting the Democrats are no longer an opposition party because the cost of opposition is too high, and we are effectively a one party fascist state.
