KIDNAPPED. You don’t arrest a child. The word you’re looking for is KIDNAPPED.

They can’t do it because it points out that they themselves are doing nothing to help. Maybe three of them saying Abolish ICE. The rest are talking about retraining and body cams and QR codes.
Could a Democrat, any Democrat, release a statement actually thanking the people that have been out there doing the fucking work instead of this constant scolding tone for the love of God
Respectfully, look at this fucking bullshit that we’re dealing with, not a single person here has “taken the bait.” We have born witness as little kids are used as bait and neighbors are kidnapped on our streets. A mad dipshit is going to invoke the Insurrection Act regardless and you are blaming us

Democratic leadership is terrified of being seen on the side of the people of Minneapolis, least they lose the potential future support of pro-cop people whose support they do not and never will have.
I have been actively involved in protest movements for 24 years. I have never seen anything approaching this scale. Minneapolis is not accepting what's happening here. ICE fucking murdered a woman for participating in this, and all that did is bring out more people, from more walks of life.

I.e. acts like an entitled cis, straight, white guy.
When ChatGPT says something false, it
a) praises you for picking up on that
b) makes an excuse why it was wrong
c) admits that this excuse is also untrue
d) apologises for sounding confident but wrong
e) insists it wasn't lying (but well done you for pondering that) as lying requires intention.

Option 5: Trump didn't understand what Rutte offered, doesn't understand what he THINKS Rutte offered, doesn't understand any of the small-word explanations given to him by staffers, and his main impression is that this should count as a "war" he ended.
Not forgetting option 4 - Trump has completely misunderstood what Rutte offered
So, 3 broad possibilities here:
1) Rutte agreed to something of substance pre-cleared with Copenhagen & Nuuk
2) Rutte agreed to something of substance *not* pre-cleared with Copenhagen & Nuuk
3) Rutte agreed to something of no substance but that made Trump feel warm and fuzzy and important

the western alliance was born in the fires of the most catastrophic conflict in the history of the world. republicans are spitting on the graves of the dead. these men and women are human filth.
Genuinely insane we are living in a world where the Danish have to deploy a battlegroup to protect themselves against America. Makes my blood turn molten, honestly

I’m becoming socially conservative in that I’m becoming a real tightass about civic virtue & honor. Fuck your boyfriend & his husband wearing dogsuits in private if you want, I don’t care at all, but I’m becoming pretty humorless about people feeling they have no obligation to any civic project

Not to get all stentorian, but both my grandfathers served in WW2, and one of them died from its lingering sting decades later (chronic injuries). An ocean of fucking blood shed, the highest price imaginable paid to create a world where this shit didn’t happen, undone for *nothing*. Fuck you!

People are saying you have to accept repentance and changed minds, but what does that mean, for someone like this? Do we need to accept someone who says “I realized I’m against his anti-Somali policy and looking for someone who likes Somalis but hates all the other people I hate”?
Incredible quote here from a Somali small business owner in Minneapolis who voted for Trump. minnesotareformer.com/2026/01/19/a...

I do have to point out that even with a more-accepting society, there is a gulf between "I am okay with queers" and "I am okay with my kid being a queer". People can support LGBT rights in the abstract and then get spooked when their own precious cinnamon roll makes them a "non-traditional family".

i am very worried there is an emerging consensus from "trans-supportive" cishets in the US that's basically "you can be trans, but not if you're a child". trans rights ok if they don't have to cede property "rights" over their kids

there is no trans liberation without youth liberation

I mean, seems common-sense to me. My friends will tell you only to trust me with a Gatling gun if I'm honest enough to tell the cashier that I have an aftermarket cunt.
The DOJ is weighing rolling back gun restrictions but implementing a form change requiring applicants purchasing a gun to list their "biological sex at birth" which would serve to out trans people and potentially target them with criminal charges if they list their current sex or gender identity.

Wiki: In 2007, Meiner moved to Miami Beach and joined the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a civil law enforcement attorney. Multiple female staff complained about inappropriate behavior & unwanted sexual advances.

Republican Nazis thought we would greet ICE as liberators. They fundamentally do not understand human decency.
Trump is privately worried about the "optics" of ICE raids and his advisers are looking for ways to soften them, Axios reports. I'm calling bullshit: The terror and violence cannot be hived off from the broader policy agenda. They are 100% intrinsic to it.

Trump’s Own Advisers Suddenly Unnerved as ICE Raids Take Horrific Turn
So the president doesn’t like the “optics” of what ICE is doing. But there’s no such thing as sanitized, popular mass deportations—and this is by design.

Thanks. We have folks in our community giving vulnerable students rides to school, and a teacher shared that they were putting small stuffed animals on their dashboards to help kids identify safe cars. ICE picked up on it and started doing the same. Horrifying.
