You know pundits thought about white American youths in the 1950s, before this terrible stuff happened that Hazony talks about? They thought American youths were nihilistic, had lost their moral compasses, were prone to juvenile delinquency, and had fallen prey to the siren song of rock n' roll.

Holy John Birch Society Batman. These folks aren't intellectuals in the slightest but a bunch of clowns that hate the Civil Rights Movement and the New Deal. If they actually had to live in the 1920s they would not be the rails on top.
This is a wild thing for someone who calls themselves an intellectual to say with a straight face to the New York Times. This is not a historical account based on an understanding of the history--this is just pure far right, Christian Nationalist propaganda/conspiracy theory ca. 1962-1980s.

We’ve been fighting this movement for decades now. Their history is entirely revisionist, not representative of the nation they are describing. It’s almost entirely the perspective of solely a relatively small group of conservative Christians as if they were always & ever the only authentic culture.

This. A lot of these CBP guys are just gutter racists with a badge and guns. Always have been no matter what administration; this one has just turned them loose away from the border.
While reporting this, we came across this ProPublica story from 2019 about a Border Patrol Facebook group.

Hardly any differences between this and other cop pages we've reported on. It's all the same dehumanization and racism, just different targets (w/ Chicago cops—usually it's Black people).

it just seems plainly clear to me that if you serve the country in any capacity, civil or military, and you are not a conservative white man, the Trump administration wants to make the workplace as hostile an environment as possible so you remove yourself

Anyone who refuses to acknowledge that Americans are paying the price of these senseless tariffs should not be put on the air. Period.

I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane, been shot at dozens of times by anti-aircraft fire, and launched into orbit — all for my country. I never thought I'd see a President call for my execution.

Trump doesn’t understand the Constitution, and we're all less safe for it.

The White House says Trump is frustrated with both Russia and Ukraine for refusing to strike a peace deal. Envoy Witkoff and Secretary of State Rubio have quietly worked on a plan. Trump fully backs this plan, calling it good for both Russia and Ukraine.

Good for Ukraine. I'm lost for words.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

We literally convicted Calley for failing to refuse an unlawful order.
Apparently this is about telling soldiers to resist unlawful orders? See linked story. www.cnn.com/2025/11/20/p...

FYI, it is a well-established legal principle that soldiers may (perhaps must) refuse unlawful orders. Couple cites in a subsequent post

heres an example of politico covering the news while still covering for trump. the headline says trump is calling for a "trial" for dems. but what trump actually said is the dems should be offed. its very plain what he said. not saying so is a cover-up.

i would bet a substantial sum of money that trump doesn’t even know a layman’s definition of sedition, let alone the actual legal definition. he’s an old man with diminishing impulse control perceiving (correctly) that his grip on both republicans in congress and power are slipping.

This further bolsters my recent assumption that in light of the unfolding events around the Epstein case Russians have the urge to move quickly and press Trump before his grip of the Republican Party fades away. Russians most certainly must think that Trump will soon be of not much use to them.
