You hear this a lot obviously from conservatives or “non political” types whenever a protest happens and it’s really borne out of their deep lack of convictions and cowardice. They can’t possibly believe that other people could actually believe things or could care about something
lol, Paul Allen, the radio voice of the Vikings, apparently believes that anti-ICE protesters are paid. C’mon, man. Literally go outside.

They hate brown people so much they decided to go to war against...ummm, Minnesota, Canada, and Denmark.

These are the true handmaidens of the Antichrist.
Erika Kirk called the protests against ICE and Trump “demonic”

The aftermath of the snow and ice storm will be a nice illustration of where the American people stand in the eyes of their government. Wouldn't be surprised if it looks like a tipping point looking back on it.

There's no strategic goal, just the bully's impulsive instinct to respond with ever increasing violence when their actions don't achieve submission.

Crash what remains of the Cuban economy, create a massive boat lift to Florida, then put them in concentration camps? Send them back? Shockingly, they don't seem to have thought through things.
no full details on this, will post the full story if I see it

Tory MP Simon Hoare has given a very vivid quote about Donald Trump's comments on Nato allies, which could actually be used in many contexts about the US president:

"Frankly Trump makes my flesh creep and my stomach turn. Where are his advisors? Where is his nurse? Where is his sense of shame?"

It would be nice for the White House press room to ask Leavitt about this.
This asshole is Bulgaria's ex-PM Zhelyazkov who resigned in December.

But his puppeteer the oligarch Peevski sent him there, probably to beg Trump to lift the Magnitsky Act sanctions from him.

If I were a very rich guy I would hire like 4-5 ex-DOJ prosecutors at whatever their salaries were and have them work 40 hours a week on developing legal theories for how to criminally charge these people
The head of Trump DOJ's Civil Rights Division boosts prediction markets placing 36% odds she'll be able to prosecute Don Lemon for his journalism, after a federal magistrate judge found no probable cause of a crime.

I'm filled with rage.
The 5-year-old arrested by ICE In Minnesota is detained at Dilley. We reported on conditions there in the below article.

Parents said the food was contaminated with mold and worms & that children were so under so much stress that they were hitting their own faces & wetting themselves.
Analysis by The Marshall Project of ICE data obtained by the Deportation Data Project found that the Trump administration’s revival of family detention has swept thousands of children into ICE custody. At least 3,800 children under 18, including 20 infants, have been booked since Trump took office.

This guy can't be real.
My most woke opinion is that integration was a mistake. The problem with Separate But Equal wasn't the Separate part, it was the Equal. Because all things being equal, we woulda been just fine without em
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

It's definitely not an act of bravery equivalent to facing down ICE. That's just dumb.
I can think of a couple. One is acknowledging the horrors. It sounds like you've made progress on this, but many haven't. It's an act of bravery as much as facing down an ICE goons, and we will need epistemic bravery to fix our problems.

The next is to see how what is happening now fits ...

the reason the elite are so desperate to vilify hard-working people coming to this country to build a better life for their families, unleashing wave after wave of gutter racism in the process, is to distract from the fact that their incestuous degeneracy causes most of our actual problems
absolutely insane to see Musk feted at Davos as the icon of a boldly "optimistic" future in 2026, as if he hadn't just spent the last year buying elections for fascists, making Nazi salutes, condemning millions in Africa to death, and building "Mechahitler," and a nonconsensual porn/CSAM generator

Makes me pine for the Davos scene from The Ministry for the Future.
man, nobody loves slop like the Davos crowd... if anyone in that audience had the slightest clue about any of this, they'd be deeply insulted by the quality of this interview with Elon Musk

It’s hard to accurately describe what is happening in Minneapolis without sounding crazy.

Unmarked rental vans all over the city, with people in military gear and no id jumping out of them to take captive anyone who looks nonwhite or who makes political speech they disagree with.

A defining aspect of the present is that our elites created an alternate media and information system for themselves so that they could hide from the reality of their own making in a make-believe fantasy where all of their decisions don’t have any effect on them.
You and I are watching protests and babies being tear gassed on social media.

They are not.

And part of that is because the media they consume - like the NYT - isn't really showing it.
