These are apparently facial reconstructions of a 2,300-year-old Pazyryk Scythian male and female from the same kurgan in Berel, Kazakhstan and not - as I first thought - that couple I met at a Spiral Tribe soundsystem in 1992 who sold me E that turned out to be paracetamol.

In my talks, I’ve been saying for a while now that as AI continues to dominate “innovation”, accessibility is going to pay the price!

In this awesome article by Tracy Stine, you can see first-hand how many people are affected!

The Accessibility Crisis of 2026: What No One Wants to Admit
Innovation is speeding up, but disabled people are the ones paying the price.

I find it helps more if I set myself quite specific tasks. “I should sort out the kitchen” doesn’t really work, but if I think “I’ll sort out that cupboard” I can get going and carry on till that job’s done, then pick the next thing and do that too. That might just be me though! Anyway, good luck 🙂

Good luck! I started on methylphenidate but it didn’t help as much as it should even with an increased dose, so they switched me to Elvanse and that’s been much better. So don’t fret if it doesn’t seem to help straight away. (Now I’m stabilised, I’ve been able to get a shared care thing with my GP.)

This is how enjambment can work in a poem. Bridge 77 on the Macclesfield Canal allows a horse to cross the canal without having to untie it from the canal boat.

Microsoft renaming MS Office to Copilot 365 is a lot less about trying to force people to accept shitty AI tools and more just a really dumb way for MS to show their investors “look how many users Copilot has” when really it’s just people using Excel and Word.

Guys, we did it. We invented the Commodore 64
Also neat at CES: HP’s battery-powered PC built into a keyboard. Sort of a screenless laptop.

I’ve posted about this before, but about five years ago I got third degree burns up my forearm (and livetweeted the experience) and now you can barely even see the scar because during pregnancy, my sons’ stem cells healed the area. And now my husband’s and kids DNA is testably part of me
Biology is so wild. It doesn't respect the rules we make up.

We all know children inherit genes from their parents. But it turns out mothers also inherit genes from their children!

And it can help them. (But it can also hurt them.)

I like the implication in these pictures that on the other 364 days of the year, the zoo has only the vaguest sense of how many lions it should have

I used to have a girlfriend whose father worked at London Zoo. One time she’d been on the phone to her parents and I asked her how they were. She said her dad had had to take a few days off work with a minor injury: “He fell over behind the bears.” 🐻

I think it's nice to have a pet. There's a weird little guy in your house who's a completely different species, but you're friends and you hang out together. That shit's wholesome as fuck.

We often get less snow here in the city than out in the countryside, even where I live which is on a hill. I’ve also watched on the weather radar as thunderstorms approach but split in two and pass by to the north and south, then join up again on the other side!
