It's sadly that time again; a post of other places I can be found on the internet if you're thinking of leaving the site.

1. My blog, Night Of The hats, which I update most days, is on blogspot because I have never moved it /1

Monster Of The Week 296 is PartyPlane, they are high as a kite and not coming down, we're not invited to this party, you know I spend weeks booking interviews and these monsters constantly flake off.

Makes me think of MAO II where DeLillo is talking (in 1991) about how terrorists now occupy the space novelists once held. Novelists once dangerously influenced mass consciousness, now they don't, and terrorists have seized their role.

Oates is from the last generation still trained to kill.

The smart move when criticised by Joyce Carol Oates is to list the 264 films you've watched this year and explain why each of them sucked. nightofthehats.blogspot.com/search/label...

Utterly shattered, so watched a 1963 ep of Sergeant Cork on @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social. It's talky, the sets sometimes creak and the odd lines is fluffed but it delivered a cracking detective story covering corrupt MPs, pornography, prostitution and women's rights, *live*, in under an hour.

Interesting story mash-up. And I can't help but notice that it seems to prefigure the "man or bear" debate.
There's been a lot of talk about Ophelia lately, as befitting one of the most tragic figures in literature. I wrote my own version of "The Fate of Ophelia" years ago. Reprinted in 2019 and feels relevant today.

Archita is 78% to her goal but donations have slowed (none for 3 days). Much gratitude to everyone who's given so far. She's in desperate need, and would be very grateful for any help. I know things are difficult for everyone right now, even shares help to get more eyes on the fundraiser:
Fellow Calcuttan writer/editor Archita Mittra is in desperate need of financial help. She recently lost her father, her home was damaged in the recent rains, & her mother's in hospital. They don't have insurance, & she's a freelancer. I can vouch for her. Please share widely & donate:

Customs agents have discovered a robot assassin that was being shipped to you, fortunately managing to identify it before it went on a killing spree. A sector-wide search has revealed more of them in transit; you and your ship head for the originating dispatch depot.
