I have a story in this! The ToC is wild, the stories are incredible. If you want a weird west anthology, that's the one you NEED. Buy a copy, and check out 'Five Lemons in a Net', my story of trauma, soul-eating shadows, and of course, the importance of shopping lists 🔥

The Final Programme retconned into being a Bond Film.
New Bond starts with death of the old one, hard cut to black void that slowly fills will stars; a man wakes confused, and a figure in gold and black armor appears. "Who are you?" asks the figure. "Bhond. Jaymes Bhond." he answers. "The Eternal Champion," nods the figure, and gives him a black sword.

(d) Before his final mission, Bond mind-melded with Q, placing his "katra" in the unwitting quartermaster's head. As his body regrows on Safin's island (unusual property of the soil as a result of his experiments) Ben Wishaw runs around acting out of character.

Fine I'm pitching my Denise Tits screenplay

She's a nuclear psychiatrist working in a rundown university in the north of England when a mysterious benefactor offers her a state of the art laboratory for her work. This is dodgy as hell so she reports it to the Civil Nuclear Constabulary (real) /1
"Oh no. James Bond died. How can we write a new film that makes sense?? Anyway, here is Bond's Girlfriend: Denise Tits."

I think this spread will be a big improvement for GMs of VoV 2e, although it does look like a bunch of tax returns. You can now seed treasure caches through a sandbox map, possibly with accompanying maps that guide to some of them

hey how neat
I just read “A New Kind of Dan” by @kylerseibel.bsky.social in Best Small Fictions 2024 (originally in @trampset.bsky.social), and loved it so much. The ending is perfect. Sorry I’m so late to this one, but if you haven’t read it… trampset.org/a-new-kind-o...

Minor pirate gangs have been operating out of the Hindness System, the damage their raids have done not quite enough for any fleet to risk their defences. Now a Trade league has formed a multi-system squadron, and you and your ship have been asked to join the expedition.

Makes me think of MAO II where DeLillo is talking (in 1991) about how terrorists now occupy the space novelists once held. Novelists once dangerously influenced mass consciousness, now they don't, and terrorists have seized their role.

Oates is from the last generation still trained to kill.

The smart move when criticised by Joyce Carol Oates is to list the 264 films you've watched this year and explain why each of them sucked. nightofthehats.blogspot.com/search/label...
